Go visit the website for Attorney General Josh Stein of North Carolina and it will become evident that he wants his constituents to know he takes the “opioid epidemic” very seriously.
The attorney general lists some alarming statistics, followed by proposed legislative solutions focusing on the distribution of fentanyl in particular. That’s reassuring to know because fentanyl is a prescription drug that is also manufactured illegally. As a synthetic opioid, fentanyl is similar to morphine, but it is 50 to 100 times more potent. The nexus between the Biden administration’s open southern border and illicit fentanyl is undeniable.
With these facts in mind, now go visit Stein’s other site. He’s not just the state’s attorney general, but he’s also the Democratic Party’s candidate for governor this November. Once again, Stein calls attention to the rising number of opioid-related deaths. This time, he’s doing it with a new campaign ad featuring a mother who lost her son to fentanyl. So, it would logically follow for constituents to conclude that Stein would be opposed to open borders that exacerbate the fentanyl crisis.
But they would be wrong.
Stein just endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, the Biden administration’s train wreck of a “border czar,” for president. He did so seemingly without hesitation. Now that Roy Cooper, North Carolina’s incumbent Democratic governor, has taken himself out of consideration to become Harris’s running mate, Stein is set to become his party’s leading figure in a critical swing state.
By embracing an open-border radical like Harris, Stein is throwing away any valid claim toward law and order. As Restoration News has reported, Harris, as Team Biden’s failed border czar, is singularly responsible for enabling hundreds of thousands of criminal illegal aliens to wreak havoc in the United States. The dismal statistics are hard to overstate. The House Committee on Homeland Security has released a report showing that under the Biden-Harris administration, the number of encounters at the southern border is approaching 10 million.
One reason for Stein to support Harris is because the North Carolina attorney general’s record and rhetoric on illegal immigration are not much better. Stein has publicly stated that there are no sanctuary cities in North Carolina, but we know otherwise after publishing a state-by-state database at IllegalAlienCrimes.com identifying Buncombe, Durham, and Mecklenburg as counties that provide safe haven to illegal aliens who victimize the local population.
Stein could possibly take a page from the Harris campaign and flip-flop as she has on his current position or remain an apologist for criminals. Either approach would not be inspiring to the electorate.
In an interview with CSPAN, the attorney general doubled down on his support allowing illegal aliens to remain in the country under “Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals” program, which delays the deportation of illegal aliens who came to the U.S. as children. In the same interview, Stein even supported concept of illegal aliens eventually becoming police officers and expressed his opposition to the mass deportation of illegals.
Going a step further, Stein had North Carolina join other states in suing the Trump administration over a proposal to add a new question to the U.S. Census that would ask people if they are U.S. citizens. Apparently, Stein is eager to have illegal aliens become part of the fabric of America.
But perhaps the biggest hurdle Stein faces where illegal immigration is concerned is his unwillingness to come clean over where he stands on having his state cooperate with federal officials.
In May, the North Carolina General Assembly passed HB 10 , a proposed new law that would require all of the state’s sheriffs to provide the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency with assistance in the deportation process. Cooper has vetoed previous versions of the bill but since the GOP now has a veto-proof majority, it is possible HB 10 could become law, thanks to Stein. Recent history shows that Stein has been supportive of sheriffs who have refused to cooperate with ICE. So far, Stein’s campaign has declined to answer any questions about where he stands on HB 10.
Meanwhile, illegal aliens who commit additional crimes on top of their illegal entry continue to rack up casualties in North Carolina with the support of Stein and Harris.

Doing a quick search on a number of Democrat candidates and incumbents, it’s easy to judge their lack of fitness for public office: none of them has ever held any private sector job. Democrats do not work for a living. Their career paths meander from college/law school (where they are fully absorbing whatever propaganda fits into their brains) to a variety of internships and/or public sector jobs. Then, they move full-time into holding public office as a career path? Please tell me how it is such a person is fit to represent working people or American citizens? I mean (in the left’s terms) “authentically working people”?
Republicans repeatedly fail to attack Democrats on that basis, possibly because more and more of them have joined with Democrats in the public sector/public office career path? It is as damaging to the republic as granting passports to children of illegal aliens and birth tourists.
On that subject, I am highly suspect of a number of hispanic “candidates” whose backgrounds are obscured. Granting U.S. passports to children of illegal aliens has enabled more than 400,000 de facto illegals to vote this year. Can any Americans be in doubt of the impact that has on elections? Yet, Republicans have refused to visit this issue or rectify the meaning and significance of birthright citizenship? Congress after Congress has betrayed the American people by overwhelming the electorate with phony “voters”. How many of them end up running for office on the local, state or federal level as a legacy of that policy? Whatever the current policy at the federal level wrt issuance of passports to U.S. born children of illegally-present foreigners, the danger to the republic is that these people have no allegiance to the United States and in fact, present a very great threat and dilution to historic American citizens.
