Biden Weirdly Quips That Speaker Johnson is ‘Dead on Arrival’–Not His Doomed Supreme Court Proposal

Joe Biden gave an astonishingly odd answer when asked on the airport tarmac in Austin, Texas, what he thought about Republican Speaker Mike Johnson’s thoughts on his radical Supreme Court reform proposal.

“Speaker Johnson said it’s dead on arrival,” the reporter shouted.

“I think that’s what he is,” Biden said in response.

The stunned reporter asked for clarification, shouting “That he is—?”

Grinning, Biden responded: “He is. Dead on arrival.”

Biden was in Texas Monday afternoon to deliver remarks and commemorates the 60th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act during a visit to the LBJ Presidential Library.

Monday morning, Biden announced his plan to overhaul the Supreme Court, which he first mentioned during his Oval Office remarks to the nation last Wednesday addressing why he dropped out of the presidential race.

Liberals have become increasingly hostile to the conservative majority Supreme Court in recent years, especially in the wake of several recent rulings that were unfavorable to Democrats.

Biden’s proposal to transform the Supreme Court has three parts, including a constitutional amendment called the “No One Is Above the Law Amendment,” which would need significant majorities in Congress and across state legislatures.

The entire plan calls for term limits for Supreme Court justices, who currently serve lifetime appointments, an enforceable ethics code and a constitutional amendment that would overturn the July 1 ruling that former presidents have “presumptive immunity” from prosecution for official acts while in office.

Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) told Fox Business Monday afternoon that no one in Washington is taking Biden’s scheme to revamp the Supreme Court seriously.

“When President Biden’s Supreme Court proposal gets to Capitol Hill, in my opinion it’s as dead as Woodrow Wilson,” Kennedy told Fox Business host Neil Cavuto. “I don’t think the House will even bring it up. I don’t know of anyone who’s taking it seriously.”

The senator went on to say that he didn’t think the proposal was even Biden’s idea.

“I think it’s Vice President Kamala Harris’ proposal,” he said, explaining that she probably wanted Biden to take the lead “so in case there’s blowback, it doesn’t blow on her.”
