Sanctuary State Offering Plane Tickets to Illegal Aliens to Leave Due to Overcrowding

One Democratically-controlled state that has long considered itself a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens is now desperately trying to get illegals to leave, even offering plane tickets to other states.

According to the Daily Caller, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey (D-Mass.) announced recently that the state’s overflow shelters for illegals will now be limiting stays to five days, starting next month. After the five-day period is up, the state will offer to compensate illegals for plane tickets and other travel expenses just to send them somewhere else. Massachusetts, like many states that are under overwhelming Democratic control, has been flooded with illegals ever since Joe Biden took office and opened the southern border.

“I want to be clear, particularly to people outside of Massachusetts who may have gotten word that this is a place to come, that we do not have room here in Massachusetts,” said Healey during a press conference.

“Massachusetts is out of shelter space, and we simply cannot afford the current size of this system,” Healey admitted in a separate press release on Tuesday. “That’s why we are making changes to [Emergency Assistance] prioritization and transitioning our safety-net sites to five-day temporary respite centers.”

Starting August 1st, the state of Massachusetts will give priority shelter to native-born families with newborn babies, veterans, or someone with a serious medical condition.

This marks a massive shift in the operations of four state-run overflow shelters in Massachusetts, operating out of Cambridge, Chelsea, Lexington, and Norfolk. These shelters currently allow illegals to stay for up to 30 days, and include the option to re-apply for another 30-day stay.

Governor Healey had previously declared Massachusetts to be a sanctuary state, having offered praise for the concept of “sanctuary” for illegal aliens in the past. As the Attorney General of Massachusetts in 2017, she issued a statement condemning President Donald Trump’s strict immigration stances.
