Out for Blood, The Left Comes Unhinged Following SCOTUS Immunity Decision

To say that the political left has reacted poorly following last week’s U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling regarding presidential immunity would be an understatement–akin to saying that President Biden underwhelmed voters in his latest presidential debate.

Capitol Hill Democrats and other outraged voices on the left have since been issuing dire warnings of how the court’s ruling will set the stage for lawless and potentially violent behavior on the part of former president Donald Trump and his supporters.

Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) called it “the most dangerous judicial decision in generations” and warned:

“By smooth and naive legalese, these partisan justices have created a framework for a President to commit any acts he or she chooses … This opinion is nothing less than a blueprint for a lawless dictator to take root in the Oval Office of the White House.”

Some commentators went so far as to suggest that the ruling was a green light for president Biden to preemptively “take out” Trump as a matter of “official business.”

Others on the left cranked up the outrage machine over comments made by Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts who recently acknowledged that Americans in 2024 are in the process of carrying out a second American Revolution at the ballot box.

Roberts pointed out that concerns about whether the left will allow a peaceful transfer of power are well-founded when considering the events of 2020, which included violent riots in numerous American cities, the targeting and intimidation of Supreme Court justices and the weaponization of tax-payer funded agencies against their political opponents.

Roberts’ comments have prompted accusations that he was using incendiary language and threatening violence on the part of the political right.

But Roberts’ language seems quite rational and reasonable compared to the fiery rhetoric of many left-wing politicians and commentators in 2020.

The prospect of a restoration of Constitutional order is a source of hope for those who have seen their institutions co-opted by power-seekers and opportunists.

And it’s clearly a source of terror for those who have been working to overthrow the institutions that once protected our freedoms and way of life.

  1. First, we can all agree that “Get Trump By Any Means Available” is still the mantra of a large group of Dem voters. Second, a careful reading and understanding of the SCOTUS decision makes it obviously quite useful to the Dems the next time they win an election. Third, we all come out ahead when the mainstream voters, not the radicals on either side, pick the President and all Congress critters.

  2. Democrats and their leftist allies are certainly building up a rhetorical head of steam for something. They first cite the need to deal with an imaginary situation, then break the law. If that seems too risky politically, they make up the law out of whole cloth. But Democrats are now past the point of an Executive Order getting the job done cleanly enough. Their extremist tendencies might lead them to risk doing away with elections altogether until some specified time when “our democracy is no longer in danger.” If they’ve gone down that rabbit hole, they’ll start by nullifying the results of the '24 election if Trump wins. They should understand why there are multiple reasons why he will and why Biden can’t be president after 1/20/25, but they probably don’t.
