Of Rats and Biden

To hear the Democrats and the mainstream media tell the story over the past couple of days, it has become clear to everyone that Joe “Lennie” Biden has reached the end of his road here on this troubled earth, and it’s up to them to put him out of his misery. After years of traveling, working hard, and some occasional gaffes—call them “pinching the heads” of the mice he liked to pet—ol’ Joe finally went too far the other night. First, he crushed Curly’s hand. Next, he killed the puppy that Slim gave him. Then he snapped Curly’s wife’s spine when she freaked out while he was stroking her hair. And finally, he lost a debate to Donald Trump. They don’t want to do it, you see, but they have to. It really is for his own good:

Lennie said, “I thought you was mad at me, George.”

“No,” said George. “No, Lennie. I ain’t mad. I never been mad, an’ I ain’t now. That’s a thing I want ya to know.”

The voices came close now. George raised the gun and listened to the voices.

Lennie begged, “Le’s do it now. Le’s get that place now.”

“Sure, right now. I gotta. We gotta.”

And George raised the gun and steadied it, and he brought the muzzle of it close to the back of Lennie’s head. The hand shook violently, but his face set and his hand steadied. He pulled the trigger. The crash of the shot rolled up the hills and rolled down again. Lennie jarred, and then settled slowly forward to the sand, and he lay without quivering.

George shivered and looked at the gun, and then he threw it from him, back up on the bank, near the pile of old ashes.

Poor Joe. All he wanted was a cow, and a pig, and some chickens—and, of course, the rabbits—and to live off the fat of the land. But it just wasn’t to be. Those are nice dreams Joe had, and who wouldn’t want to live in a paradise where “Ever’body gonna be nice to you. Ain’t gonna be no more trouble. Nobody gon-na hurt nobody nor steal from ’em.”

The fly in the ointment here is Mean Mr. Trump. He isn’t going to let Joe’s infirmities go unaddressed. He is too cruel and too power-hungry to treat Joe fairly, to give him the grace that other, kindlier people feel he deserves. And so, somebody has to step in and intervene to save Joe from Trump’s cruelty. Sure, it may seem unkind superficially, but, in truth, it’s an act of selflessness and compassion.

Or at least that’s what they’d have us believe.

The problem with the Democrats’ and the media’s narrative is that it’s patently and ridiculously false. This isn’t about Joe Biden and saving him from the cruelties of Trump and another presidential campaign. This is about them and preserving their power. They don’t want to put Biden out of his misery. They want to put him out of their misery.

If any of them cared at all about Joe Biden, they would have intervened three months ago, when his staff started walking with him across the White House lawn to the presidential helicopter so that they could shield people’s view from him and thereby keep them from seeing how his gait had deteriorated. If any of them cared at all about Joe Biden, they would have intervened 14 months ago, when he announced his intention to run for reelection. “Joe…you’re 80 now. You’ll be 86 when your second term is over. Do you really think that’s a good idea?” Heck, if any of them cared about Joe Biden, they probably would have stepped in five years ago when he announced that he was running for president in the first place. They knew he was ailing then. Everyone knew it. They also knew that the presidency—the most powerful and stressful job in the world—would exacerbate and accelerate his debilities.

But they didn’t step in. They didn’t even think about it. Instead, they went out of their way to cover it up, to hide it from the American people. He’s fine, they’d say. He’s perfectly sharp and capable “behind closed doors.” This is all a trick being played on the American people by the Republicans, who are “deceptively editing” videos to make Sleepy Joe look even sleepier. In fact, it’s their guy who is showing signs of mental decline. Biden is fine. He’s great. He’s better than ever. Trump, on the other hand… is losing it.

They knew that this was blatantly dishonest and, worse yet, aggressively unkind to an old man who probably didn’t—and probably still doesn’t—know any better. For decades, Biden was among Washington’s boldest, brashest, and most overconfident figures. They knew they could get him to play along by feeding his ego. And so, they did. And it worked. Or at least it worked until this past Thursday night, when it all fell apart—wholly and irreparably.

Now, they come to us—more in disappointment than in anger—saddened and surprised at the decline of their old and dear friend. They have to do something, of course, for our sake and especially for his. Good thing they brought Carlson’s Luger with them. “Joe turned his head. No, Joe,” they’re said. “Look down there acrost the river, like you can almost see the White House.”

Shameful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

  1. For all of the replace Biden rhetoric there are other things the media isn’t telling its audience—and it is more about manipulation for clicks AND covering up their own conspiracy. The truth is they cannot replace Biden at this point----or better, if they do, they do so knowing they are tanking the 2024 election.

For those calling for Biden to step aside and let someone else take over there are hurdles few are considering.

    1. Even if Biden were to step aside today, nothing official can take place until the DNC convention. Biden’s delegates are pledged to him. He cannot release them until the first convention ballot.
    2. Getting on the state’s ballots. Just like RFK Jr., getting on a state ballot is a process that begins and ends with the Primaries and crossing a Primary threshold. Even if Democrats draft someone else at the Convention, that process still has to be observed. Oh, it can be done. I’m not arguing it can’t, but it will take time----and time is something any new candidate does not have.
    3. speaking of time----post the DNC Convention, there will only be about 72 days until the election. Any new candidate will have to get offices set up in the states that have a chance of being won----and that takes both money and organization.
    4. Which leads to the biggest barrier of all----money. All of the money in Biden’s campaign coffers are his. They cannot just be given to someone else. And it is more than just Biden selfishly hanging on to it, the FEC has rules regarding the transfer of campaign funds. What I understand is that it cannot be done.

As I understand the process, the funds could only be transferred to Kamala Harris. Is there anyone out there that really believes she could beat Donald Trump? Be honest.

It’s going to take some very deep pocket donors to make up the shortfall. Even the most ardent Democrat is going to take a long look at sending good money after bad. Who could blame them?

The media, and all of the Democrat establishment has been lying to us for months (if not years) about Biden’s true mental condition. On debate night and the days hence, they played at being shocked–SHOCKED—with what they saw. The only shock was the realization that the jig is up.

Several months ago when everyone was worried about an Intel hit on Donald Trump it became obvious, watching Joe’s deterioration, that it would have been a better idea if Joe was made to experience a fate similar to Anton Scalia. Now it is too late. The Democrats got the Trump killer they wanted and with him came all of the other stubborn, nasty and evil personality accoutrements they now must wear like an albatross to the convention. Plus, unlike Donald Trump, who governed as expected, Joe still can’t get the Hamas wing of his insane party on his side no matter how hard he tries to throw Israel under the bus. Furthermore he is losing his base. Black men are competing with foreign nationals for jobs.

Never underestimate how stupid politicians can be and this time the Democrats have made the Republicans look smart. That is a pretty difficult thing to do.

  3. Okay—you wanna hear my conspiracy theory?

Reading all the polls—both external and internal—the Democrat Machine realized that Trump was going to win. But not just win, win Bigly----like Nixon sweeping the board Bigly----like Reagan Bigly-----and to be able to explain away the sudden reversal by the American people rejecting the Democrat Platform----they built in a handy excuse------Trump won ONLY because Joe was so far gone. If it hadn’t been for that they would have gotten over 90 million votes this time, and gained supermajorities in both the House and Senate!

It’s all Joe’s fault you see? It wasn’t years of lies. It wasn’t years of bad policy. It wasn’t the rejection of Climate change. It wasn’t rejection of the LGBTQA++ZLMNOP. It was a decrepit Joe.

Sadly, most of the Democrat rank and file will swallow it hook, line, and sinker.

Fine, I can buy that strategy narrative and some Republicans will believe them, especially after it is fine tuned through the usual propaganda outlets such as the NY Times, but they cannot escape the fact that, as supposed Patriots, instead of evil socialists, fascists and globalists, they saw what we all saw prior to the debate. Consequently they would be better off trying to sell an air-conditioner to an Eskimo, in the winter, than to peddle that yarn to those who watched the debate along with others who will watch it because it cannot be scrubbed off of YouTube as so much other evidence is.

  5. I find it easy to understand-----the Left has NO shame factor. Instead of ever admitting the truth it is so much easier to simply deny, deny, deny. I’m reminded of the old Chicago song, When I Die that goes, “I can swear there ain’t no heaven, but I pray there ain’t no hell.” If God does not exist, there is absolutely no moral reason to not lie. There are no consequences, only benefits. Any action, no matter how much we find it morally reprehensible, is justified if it advances the agenda.
