Report: ISIS-Affiliated Human Smuggling Ring has Brought over 400 Illegal Aliens into U.S.

A new report claims that over 400 illegal aliens have been smuggled into the United States through a smuggling ring with ties to the Islamic terrorist organization ISIS.

As reported by Daily Wire, several anonymous officials told NBC News that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed the identities of the 400 individuals in question due to their Islamic ties. Of those 400, about 150 have already been arrested. Another 200 are known to law enforcement but are spread out across 17 states, and will likely be arrested in the near future. The remaining 50 are still unknown to law enforcement, and manhunts are underway to find them.

The Biden Administration tried to take credit for the arrests, citing “an abundance of caution” in their actions. However, NBC notes that the illegals were only able to get into the country in the first place due to the open-border policies implemented by Joe Biden since he first took office.

All of the illegals in question were released by Border Patrol because there was not yet enough information available linking them to Islamic terrorism; the countries where ISIS can still be found have poor record-keeping capabilities, thus making it even harder for such information to be tracked down. Furthermore, cooperation between such Middle Eastern countries and the United States would be unlikely due to ongoing hostilities in the region, especially in the context of the ongoing war in Israel.

The threat of terrorism that could be committed by the illegals in question has raised alarms in the national security sphere. Former FBI counterrorism section chief Christopher O’Leary remarked that “the fact that the whereabouts were unknown is clearly alarming,”

“I believe the [U.S.] is scrambling to locate these individuals, and using the immigration charges is not uncommon,” O’Leary continued. “They are in violation of that law. And if you need to take somebody off the street, that’s a good approach to do it.”

Earlier this month, it was announced that 8 suspected members of ISIS were arrested in multiple cities across the country. They also entered the US illegally by crossing the southern border.
