Whistleblowers: John Kerry Used Government Email Alias During Secretary of State Tenure

A new whistleblower report claims that former Secretary of State John Kerry used a false government email address during his tenure.

As reported by Fox News, the claims were expanded upon in a letter by Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) to incumbent Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The senators demanded answers from Blinken regarding whether or not Kerry was in compliance with federal records laws while in office.

The whistleblowers told Senators Grassley and Johnson that Kerry used the email “SESTravel1@state.gov” while he was serving as Secretary of State during Barack Obama’s second term.

“We want to know whether then-Secretary Kerry properly complied with all federal records laws and regulations with respect to his official email communications and whether responses to relevant Freedom of Information Act requests have properly included that email address in productions to requestors,” the senators wrote.

The revelations seem to suggest a pattern with recent high-ranking Democratic officials failing to comply with federal records laws by using private email addresses rather than their designated government addresses. Most infamously, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was heavily scrutinized for her use of a private email server during her time in office during Obama’s first term; the scandal ultimately played a major role in her loss in the 2016 election. More recently, it was revealed that Joe Biden himself used several non-government email addresses and pseudonymous addresses while serving as vice president.

“To-date, the Biden administration has failed to address Joe Biden’s compliance with federal records laws,” they added. They further demanded to know how the State Department went about the process of archiving Kerry’s email correspondences from this account, and whether or not this email was used for official business.

Senators Grassley and Johnson gave Secretary Blinken a deadline of July 1st to respond to their letter.
