Joe Biden’s open border policies have left the United States vulnerable to terrorist attacks, national security experts are warning after eight suspected terrorists with ties to ISIS were arrested in sting operation in New York, Los Angeles and Philadelphia.
The Tajikistan nationals crossed the southern border into the United States in 2023, and were processed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
At least two of the suspects reportedly crossed into the US in spring 2023, and one had used the CBP One app to enter.
According to Fox News, the suspects were allowed to continue on into the interior of the U.S. pending asylum after being “fully vetted.”
After they were released, the FBI flagged them for having ties to Islamic State Khorasan (ISIS-K), which encompasses parts of Iran, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. The extreme Islamic State offshoot was founded in 2014, and is responsible for numerous of attacks targeting civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The arrests were part of a sting operation conducted by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force.
“ICE agents arrested several non-citizens pursuant to immigration authorities. The actions were carried out in close coordination with the FBI’s joint terrorism task forces,” the agencies said in a joint statement.
The suspects remain in ICE custody.
The arrests came a week after FBI Director Christopher Wray warned about the threat of a terrorist attack on US soil.
“Our most immediate concern has been that individuals or small groups will draw twisted inspiration from the events in the Middle East to carry out attacks here at home,” Wray said during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing.
“But now, increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland, akin to the ISIS-K attack we saw at the Russia concert hall a couple weeks ago,” he added.
Although the group has previously concentrated its efforts on Russia, multiple Western leaders have warned of its ability to launch attacks in Europe and America.
A month earlier, Wray told the Senate Intelligence Committee the FBI was monitoring a human smuggling operation at the southern border, with ties to terrorists from ISIS-affiliated groups.
“I want to be a little bit careful how far I can go in open session, but there is a particular network that, where some of the overseas facilitators of the smuggling network have ISIS ties that we’re very concerned about and that we’ve been spending enormous amount of effort with our partners investigating,” the FBI director said in response to a question from Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
“Exactly what that network is up to is something that’s, again, the subject of our current investigation,” he added.
Federal authorities have not disclosed whether the suspects were in the process of planning an active attack in any of the three cities.
However, an FBI wiretap revealed that one of the now-arrested individuals was talking about bombs, ICE sources told the New York Post.
“Remember the Boston marathon [bombing]? I’m afraid something like that might happen again or worse,” one of the sources said.
Hundreds of known terrorists have been caught trying to enter into the U.S. in recent years, and untold numbers have made it through due to the Biden regimes lax border policies.
The number of border crossers with suspected terror ties has jumped from 11 in the financial years 2017 through 2020 to 362 between financial years 2021 and April 2024, according to federal data.
With migration continuing at unprecedented levels, federal authorities have already accidentally released migrants into the country who have suspected or known terror ties.
Mohammad Kharwin, 48, illegally entered the US near San Ysidro, Calif., in March 2023 and was freed into the US.
However, it wasn’t until a year later the FBI notified ICE that Kharwin was a suspected member of the US-designated foreign terror group Hezb-e-Islami, or HIG. Kharwin was rearrested on April 11 and remains in federal custody.
Additionally, ICE admitted earlier this year that a 27-year-old Somali national, who has not been identified by name, was let into the country despite being a “confirmed member of al Shabaab,” a designated terrorist group in the US.
The man was terror-watchlisted and said to be “involved in the use, manufacture or transportation of explosives or firearms,” but was released at the border in California in March 2023.
Almost a year later, ICE tracked him down to Minnesota and arrested him.
Border Patrol agents say they know other terrorists have slipped through the cracks because they don’t have enough time to effectively screen people.
“What you’re seeing now is only gonna get worse,” one Border agent recently told The Post.
“ICE probably has a list of people they need to go after.”
NYC Democratic Councilman Robert Holden warned that the U.S. could soon see another massive terrorist attack,
“It’s frightening, and we’re headed for another 9/11,” Holden told Fox News Wednesday.
“I predicted that, I think we should have a secure border. We should know who’s coming into our country – we don’t. And millions of migrants and illegal aliens have gotten through. So it’s a situation that we’re just, you know, really rolling the dice here.”
National Security experts say the Biden regime’s open border policies have caused the threat of terrorism on U.S. soil to skyrocket.
“The fact that these eight ISIS suspects got through the southern border really is a travesty,” retired U.S. Army Major General Dana Pittard told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday morning.
“ISIS-K is extremely dangerous as a terrorist organization, so we must all be vigilant,” Pittard warned.
“It really takes everybody watching in their communities for any suspicious activity and making sure they talk to law enforcement, police and anything that seems suspicious,” he added.
National Security expert Jack Tomarchio suggested that the suspects may indeed have been planning an attack.
“I don’t know what he was doing here I suspect he was not here to see the Liberty Bell as a tourist either he was in transit or there was something being planned for this area we just don’t know,” Tomarchio told Fox 29.
Kyle Shideler, Director and Senior Analyst for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy, told American Greatness that the Biden regime’s “misguided” approach to immigration has made it nearly impossible to vet migrants at the border.
“This most recent incident is a reflection of not just the national security disaster at the open border, where terror watch list encounters have skyrocketed from 3 in 2020 to 169 in 2023, but is an example of how the current approach to immigration is misguided,” he said.
“There is no intelligence or database capability you can use to realistically vet illegal aliens, asylum seekers, and refugees at the industrial scale in which the Biden administration is importing them from countries which are riddled with jihadist sympathies and ideologies hostile to our way of life.”
Over the weekend, in the wake of Biden’s allegedly stricter immigration executive order, roughly 10,000 illegal aliens crossed the border, according to Border Patrol data.
“Houthis are sending missiles at our ships, ISIS is sending terrorists to our cities, and Biden is sending $400 million to Hamas,” said U.S. Army vet Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.).
Senator Rubio old Fox News Wednesday that any terrorist attacks that happen in the U.S. by foreign nationals allowed into the country in the past three and a half years can rightfully be blamed on Joe Biden.
“They are afraid of that and they want to be able to say ‘we tried to do something,’ but it’s too late almost,” he said.

Someone has to pose the question, “What good are these agencies or their employees if they cannot or will not fulfill their mission to protect the United States and its citizens?” Eliminate State Dept., DHS and the CBP and replace with roving groups of trained citizen deportation squads and arm them to the hilt.
Some years ago a contributor at American Thinker wrote a piece on muslim physicians in the U.S. being the largest financial contributors to terrorist groups overseas. Yeah, muslim ban NOW.
Under Biden, and more accurately, his “handlers”, including Obama, the country is committing suicide. No other name for it than “treason “.
Not “suicide”, rather “murder”. Even more specifically, murder by government.
