Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) told Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas to his face on Wednesday that his days in office are numbered.
In a 209-201 floor vote, the House on Monday struck down Greene’s motion to impeach Mayorkas over his handling of the border crisis, voting instead to refer the matter to the Judiciary Committee.
Eight Republican Reps joined Democrats to stop the impeachment: Darrell Issa of California, Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Ken Buck of Colorado, Cliff Bentz of Oregon, Mike Turner of Ohio, Patrick McHenry of North Carolina, Tom McClintock of California, and John Duarte of California.
The impeachment measure included a single article accusing the hapless DHS chief of engaging “in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with the laws” of the United States.
“Earlier this week, eight Republicans joined the Democrats and protected your job,” Greene told Mayorkas during a House Homeland Security Subcommittee hearing. “But I want you to know, you have a short time coming. You can honorably resign, or we are going to impeach you, and it’s happening very, very soon,” she said.
Greene had begun her remarks by asking the secretary to look at the couple in the poster sized photo she was holding up.
“I want you to look at these innocent Americans,” she said. “Do you see them?”
Mayorkas indicated that he could see them.
“They are dead!” she exclaimed. “They’re from Dalton, Georgia in my district and they are DEAD because a 17-year-old likely affiliated with the cartels was smuggling illegal aliens into our country in Texas, breaking our laws, and this happens every single day in our country.”
The days are numbered for Secretary Mayorkas.
Our southern border is being invaded and Americans are being murdered every day on his watch.

During a press conference after the vote on Monday, Greene blasted the eight Republicans who voted with Democrats to protect the incompetent DHS Secretary and vowed to reintroduce her impeachment resolution.
“Americans are fed up with it. I am particularly outraged at four of the eight Republicans that voted to shelf these articles of impeachment because four of them serve on the judiciary committee, and I want you to know that my articles of impeachment have been in the judiciary committee for six months, sitting on a shelf, so these four judiciary members – Republicans – voted to send them back up on the shelf where they will never be picked up and see the light of day in a committee forward,” she complained.
“Security Alejandro Mayorkas must be impeached, and that’s why I will reintroduce my articles of impeachment in a privileged resolution once again on the House floor, and I dare those eight Republicans to shelf them again,” Greene stated.
