Arizona’s Dem Governor Promoting Tax Rebate She Opposed

Arizona Republicans passed a tax rebate over the opposition of the state’s Democrat Gov. Katie Hobbs — but that isn’t stopping Hobbs from taking credit for the rebate.

The Grand Canyon Times reports on Hobbs now saying…

She was ‘pleased to make good’ on her ‘promise to make it easier for Arizonans to provide for their families and manage rising costs” by announcing the “Arizona Families Tax Rebate.’

Even the Arizona Daily Star. called out Hobbs on her hypocrisy, reporting that…

Hobbs is claiming credit for a $260 million tax rebate to families that she didn’t want in the state budget.

The Daily Star even points out that the tax rebate was the idea of the Arizona Freedom Caucus.

State Sen. Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek), who chairs that caucus, thinks Hobbs might be violating the law, which was written to prevent Hobbs from taking credit for it.

Are Hobbs actions illegal? It remains to be seen.

But do they reflect hypocrisy? Most definitely.
