American Greatness publisher Chris Buskirk said the new fund he co-founded is about building “the country you want to live in.”
“Build the country you want to live in. That’s it. That’s always been it,” Buskirk posted on X, formerly Twitter, today. “That’s what Americans have done since the beginning.”
“That’s why we founded 1789 Capital,” he said.
Buskirk linked to a Wall Street Journal article that profiled the new fund, 1789 Capital, which, the Journal reports, “aims to capitalize on the opportunities that it sees left open by the ‘wokeness’ of more traditional sources of capital.”
1789 Capital, co-founded by Buskirk, Omeed Malik, and Rebekah Mercer, has an initial fund of $150 million, and made its initial investment this week in Last Country, Inc., the new media company founded by Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel.
“What we are focused on is opportunities that we think have developed in the market because other forms of institutional capital have become politicized,” Buskirk told the Journal.
