Memo: Biden Family, Associates Received Over $24 Million Through Foreign Business Dealings

Another claim from House Republicans suggests that the Biden family and business associates made as much as $24 million from foreign business transactions, even higher than previous estimates.

According to the Daily Caller, the memo from the chairman of three congressional committees cites records from various shell companies which point to payments from several foreign countries, including China, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and Kazakhstan.

In addition to the previously-reported total of $15 million for the Biden family, the memo also reveals another $9 million received by business associates. These amounts were received over a five-year period, from 2014 to 2019.

“For the past several months, the House Committees on Oversight and Accountability (Oversight Committee), Ways and Means (Ways and Means Committee), and the Judiciary (Judiciary Committee) (collectively, Committees) have been investigating (1) foreign money received by the Biden family, (2) President Joe Biden’s involvement in his family’s foreign business entanglements, and (3) steps taken by the Biden Administration to slow, hamper, or otherwise impede the criminal investigation of the President’s son, Robert Hunter Biden, which involves funds received by the Biden family from foreign sources,” the memo states.

“As a result of these investigations, the Committees have uncovered significant new information that raises serious concerns as to whether the President has abused his federal office to enrich his family and conceal his and/or his family’s misconduct,” it continues. The memo was written and released by the chairmen of the three aforementioned committees: Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.), and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

In August, the Oversight Committee released bank records tied to the Biden family and associates, which suggested a slightly lower estimate of foreign earnings, at $20 million. The new memo also emphasizes that Joe Biden lied in October of 2020 when he claimed that his son Hunter never made any money from China. Multiple pieces of evidence have since debunked this, including bank records, emails from Hunter’s laptop, and congressional testimony from witnesses and whistleblowers, among other sources.

The first hearing of the impeachment inquiry was held on Thursday. All three committees are conducting their own respective investigations as part of the overall process, ahead of a likely vote on whether or not to formally impeach Biden.
