Illegal Aliens Flown to California May Have Links to Florida

On Friday, a group of over a dozen illegal aliens were flown to Sacramento, the capital of California, and were dropped off in front of a Catholic church. Now, the state Attorney General is claiming that the illegals were sent to the state by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.).

As reported by Politico, DeSantis previously generated controversy when he sent a busload of illegal aliens from Florida to the liberal town of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, in a move that some say exposed the Democrats’ own hypocrisy on open borders, while others denounced it as a publicity stunt. Since then, the Florida governor has not arranged anymore transportation for illegals, although this new arrival in Sacramento could be tied to the Sunshine State.

Over the weekend, both California Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) and Attorney General Rob Bonta (D-Calif.) said that the illegals in question had first traveled from Texas to New Mexico before coming to California. However, Bonta says that the illegals had paperwork which appeared to be connected to Florida, although he did not specify as to what kind of paperwork he was referring.

“We are investigating the circumstances by which these individuals were brought to California,” said Bonta. “We are also evaluating potential criminal or civil action against those who transported or arranged for the transport of these vulnerable immigrants. While this is still under investigation, we can confirm these individuals were in possession of documentation purporting to be from the government of the state of Florida.”

Also involved in the incident is PICO California, an allegedly religious organization which provides assistance to illegals. Eddie Carmona, the campaign director for PICO, claims that the illegals in question had already received court dates when they were approached outside of an illegal alien center in El Paso, Texas; the person who approached them, according to Carmona, represented a private contractor.

“They were lied to and intentionally deceived,” said Carmona after the incident.

DeSantis is now running for president, having announced a longshot bid against popular former President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination in 2024. Although Newsom has not yet signaled any possible candidacy for himself, he has nevertheless repeatedly offered commentary on the 2024 race, including harsh criticism of DeSantis’ policies as governor.
