Report: Following ‘Emergency Phone Calls’ Target Moves Pride Month Displays to the Back of Many Stores

Target stores in certain locations across the United States have reportedly been forced to downsize their LGBTQ Pride merchandise displays and move them to less prominent spots in the back of the store.

This came as a relief to employees who were on “the front lines” of having to deal with irate shoppers, a Target insider told Fox News.

Following “emergency” calls on Friday, Target managers and district senior directors in mainly southern and rural areas were told to limit their Pride sections immediately to avoid a “Bud Light situation,” the insider said.

“We were given 36 hours, told to take all of our Pride stuff, the entire section, and move it into a section that’s a third the size. From the front of the store to the back of the store, you can’t have anything on mannequins and no large signage,” the Target insider, who has worked at the retailer for almost two decades, told Fox.

“We call our customers ‘guests,’ there is outrage on their part. This year it is just exponentially more than any other year,” the Target insider continued. “I think given the current situation with Bud Light, the company is terrified of a Bud Light situation.”

Target has for years featured huge June Pride month displays, but this year’s LGBTQ+ wares have been particularly irksome to ordinary shoppers. The clothing line includes female bathing suits that provide “extra crotch coverage” or “tuck-friendly construction” for men who identify as women.. Even worse, the retail giant partnered with Abprallen, a trans-Satanist fashion company for some of its Pride Month merch.

The London-based company sells merchandise with images of pentagrams, horned skulls, and other Satanic products,  including pins and tee-shirts that say “Satan Respects Pronouns.” Target’s Abprallen collection includes a “Too Queer for Here” tote bag, a fanny pack that reads “we belong everywhere” and an adult “Cure Transphobia” tee-shirt.

The insider told Fox that “Target rarely makes such hasty decisions” and said Corporate spent roughly 10 minutes at the beginning of the call on “how to deal with team members safety” because of the amount of backlash their Pride merchandise had generated. The source said Target Asset Protect & Corporate Security teams were present on the call.

“The call was super quick, it was 15 minutes. The first 10 minutes was about how to keep your team safe and not having to advocate for Target. The last five was, ‘Move this to the back, take down the mannequins and remove the signage,’” the insider said. The source noted that this was extraordinary because the LGBTQ+ merch was relegated to the back of the store before Pride Month had even started.

The stores replaced their Pride products with bathing suits in the front-of-store displays.

“It’s all under the guise of trying to increase swim sales,” the insider said. “Everyone was like, ‘Thank God,’ because we’re all on the front lines dealing with it.”

Fox News Digital has confirmed rural Target stores in South Carolina, Arkansas and Georgia are among the locations to move the Pride sections. Most rank-and-file employees were left in the dark, with many not knowing the Pride sections would be moved until they noticed it themselves.

Pride merchandise remains prominently displayed at other locations and on the Target website.

Target Pride merchandise includes female-style swimsuits that can be used to “tuck” male genitalia. Some products are also labeled as “Thoughtfully fit on multiple body types and gender expressions.”

Pride merchandise also includes onesies and rompers for newborn babies, a variety of adult clothing with slogans such as “Super Queer,” party supplies, home décor, multiple books and a “Grow At Your Own Pace” saucer planter.

Shopper Kaylee Layton checked out the kids section of her local Target and was shocked at what she saw.

“This shit’s getting out of hand,” Kaylee said. “They’re targeting your children whether you like it or not, and it time people actually did something about it.”

Target’s “PRIDE” book collection is also geared toward young people with titles such as, “A Quick and Easy Guide to Sex & Disability,” “Dragging Mason County,” “Love Makes a Family,” “If You’re a Drag Queen and You Know It,” “The Pronoun Book,” “Bye Bye, Binary,” and “The Rainbow Parade.”

Target’s mad scramble to downplay its Gay Pride gear comes as Bud Light sales continue to crater after its infamous partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.
