Karine Jean-Pierre at GLAAD Event: Trans Kids ‘Are Our Kids, They Belong to All of Us’

During an appearance at the 34th annual GLAAD Media Awards over the weekend, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre suggested that the “LGBTQ+ community” holds collective ownership of children suffering from gender dysphoria. GLAAD is an acronym for Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, an American non-governmental media monitoring organization.

Jean-Pierre, who identifies as “queer,” declared these children are “our kids” and “belong to all of us” and slammed what she called “anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.”

Speaking with the website Jezebel at the event on Saturday, Jean-Pierre rallied fellow travelers to “call out” Republican legislation for the sake of so-called “trans kids.”

“There are more than 600 pieces of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation out there. A few hundred of them are anti-trans community, and that matters because we have to call that out. And we’ve never seen this level. It’s historic in the number of pieces of legislation,” she said.

To protect the nation’s children, Republican majority state legislatures across the country have in recent months passed laws banning school library books containing gay porn, “family friendly drag queen” events, and sex change treatments and procedures on minors.

Jean-Pierre added, “I’ve met a lot of parents of trans kids in the past couple of months who have told me these devastating stories, whether they’re in Texas or Oklahoma or wherever they are, saying how they now have to seriously consider leaving their state to protect their child. That’s something that we have to call out and continue to be very clear about. These are kids. These are our kids. They belong to all of us.”

Her comments follow a disturbing pattern of Biden regime officials implying that the nation’s children belong to the government rather than their parents.

As Fox News noted, Kamala Harris “caught flak in October after repeatedly referring to American children as ‘our kids’ and ‘our children.'”

“When you see our kids, and I truly believe that they are our children, they are the children of our country, of our communities, I mean, our future is really bright if we, if we prioritize them, and therefore prioritize the climate crisis and the need to address it. If we think about our children, prioritizing the need to bring our country together,” Harris said on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

And during a speech last month, Joe Biden himself quoted a former teacher, who said: “There is no such thing as someone else’s child. No such thing as someone else’s child. Our nation’s children are all our children.”

This “It takes a village” mentality in regards to America’s children goes back to the Clinton years, when then-First Lady Hillary Clinton published a book on her vision for the children of America, titled “It Takes a Village.”

The title of her 1996 best seller was based on the proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Conservatives at the time interpreted it as an attack on parental rights and an attempt to control their children’s upbringing.

That year’s Republican nominee for president, Bob Dole, voiced his disapproval of the concept in his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention. “And after the virtual devastation of the American family, the rock upon which this country was founded, we are told that it takes a village, that is collective, and thus the state, to raise a child,” he said. “And with all due respect, I am here to tell you it does not take a village to raise a child. It takes a family to raise a child.”

Later in the interview, Jean-Pierre lamented that the “LGBTQ+ community” was going through “a truly devastating and horrific time.”

“There’s been many times at the podium where I have called out these pieces of legislation. I’ve tried to do my best to reach out to the trans community and to the LGBTQ+ community from the podium so that they know what this administration is going to continue to do, which is fight, have their back, and continue to stand with them as they’re going through a truly devastating and horrific time,” she said.
