Surveillance video from a property in Eagle Pass, Texas, Monday shows a soldier opening a gate to allow a large group of aliens to cross the border into the country illegally. According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, the female soldier was an active duty member of the Missouri Army National Guard working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and following orders from the federal government. The video shows dozens of illegal immigrants passing through the gate to the American side where a white bus awaited them.
I asked the Texas National Guard if this is one of their soldiers who opens the gate for the group of migrants. They tell me she is NOT a TX soldier & is not TX ARNG. I’m told she is a Title 10 soldier from the Missouri ARNG under orders from the federal gov & working w/ BP. pic.twitter.com/zKWy121u1K

In the past few days, illegal border crossings have fallen from last week’s historic highs of 10,000-plus per day, but they are expected to rise again as there are large numbers of aliens in Mexico on their way to the border. A CBP source told Melugin that there were less than 4,000 illegal crossings on Monday. Holding facilities on the border however, continue to be over capacity.
Video footage of the Central Processing Center in El Paso last Friday shows massive overcrowding at the facility.
“That place can house 1,000 people. It was housing 3,000, Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) said on Fox and Friends, Tuesday. “In one cell in particular that can house 100 people, there were over 700.” Gonzales added that they were “all single, adult males,” and some had been there for 18 days.
“Legally, you can’t hold someone for more than 72 hours,” he noted.
Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have launched an investigation into the Department of Homeland Security’s funding of the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that offer free services, including food and transport, to illegal immigrants, according to Fox News.
Chairman Jim Jordan, along with Reps. Lance Gooden, R-Texas and Tom McClintock, R-Calif., wrote to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday “seeking information, communications and documents related to federal funding awards to NGOs for food, lodging and transportation of migrants since Jan 2021.” The lawmakers noted that the ongoing crisis at the southern border is now into its third year.
“While Americans suffer the consequences of chaos at the southwest border caused by the Biden Administration, NGOs receive hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars through federal grants to provide free food, lodging, and transportation for illegal aliens to be released anywhere they want in the United States,” the lawmakers wrote.
“NGOs simply tell DHS how many illegal aliens they encounter, and funding can be awarded without any documentation or receipts,” they added. “Federal funding for migration-related NGOs at the border has increased dramatically at a time when federal resources for border security and immigration enforcement and local resources for emergency response and medical care have been strained to the breaking point.”
