House Oversight Chair James Comer Warns DOJ Not to Indict Hunter Biden Until After Press Conference on Wednesday

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability James Comer (R-Ky.) has a clear message for the Department of Justice as the U.S. attorney of Delaware’s feeble criminal probe into Hunter Biden comes to a close: “Do not indict Hunter Biden before Wednesday.”

Republican members of the Oversight Committee will hold a press conference on Wednesday to provide an update on their investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling operation and announce their next investigative actions.

Federal prosecutors are reportedly considering only four charges against Biden amid the hundreds of crimes and conflicts of interest identified on his “laptop from Hell”: “two misdemeanor counts for failure to file taxes, a single felony count of tax evasion related to a business expense for one year of taxes and a potential felony count on falsifying a form linked to a gun permit.”

Republicans reportedly plan to reveal specific Biden family bank records that could indicate an alleged bribery scheme involving foreign adversaries, among other crimes.

“When you had the opportunity to see the evidence that the House Oversight Committee will produce with respect to the web of LLCs, with respect to the number of adversarial countries that this family influence-peddled in. This is not just about the president’s son—this is about the entire Biden family, including the president of the United States!” Comer told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“So we believe there are a whole lot of accounts that the IRS and the DOJ don’t know about because we don’t believe they’ve done a whole lot of digging in this. And we have,” The congressman added.

We spent the past hundred days poring over bank documents. I’ve used subpoena power to get these bank documents. We’ve been meeting with the former associates of the Bidens in their different influence peddling schemes. We’ve been meeting with whistleblowers. We know exactly what this family was doing. And by all accounts from the media reports that we’re getting, what they’re looking at charging Hunter Biden on is a slap on the wrist. It’s a drop in the bucket. So Wednesday will be a very big day for the American people in getting the facts presented to them so that they can know the truth. And then the Department of Justice can finally do what they should have done years ago.

Comer said it was obvious that the Bidens have “committed many, many crimes.”

I mean, you’re looking at potential money laundering. Jonathan Turley comes on Fox all the time and talks about he was essentially a foreign agent for countries like China. He’s an unregistered foreign agent. You know, there are serious crimes. You’ve got the possible racketeering. I mean, the list goes on and on and on. And again, Maria, it’s not just the president’s son. And we don’t believe these countries were paying the Biden family for nothing. We believe they were getting a return on their investment. And the return on investment would have been policy decisions for then-Vice President Joe Biden and current President Joe Biden.

The House Oversight Committee has been investigating the Biden family’s influence peddling operation to determine if the Biden family has been targeted by foreign actors, if Joe Biden is compromised, and if the family’s corruption threatens national security.

According to Comer’s office, the Committee “has already obtained thousands of pages of financial records related to the Biden family and their associates’ transactions.”

Recently, the Committee revealed one deal that resulted in several members of the Biden family and their companies receiving over $1 million in more than 15 incremental payments from a Chinese company through a third party.

The Oversight Republicans’ press conference will take place at 9:00 a.m. ET on  Wednesday.
