Far-Left Dark Money Group Working to Sabotage Republican Investigations into Biden

As the House GOP plans numerous investigations into Joe Biden’s various scandals, ranging from government misconduct to his family’s questionable business ties, a far-left dark money group is organizing to deliberately sabotage those probes.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, the Congressional Integrity Project (CIP) plans to regularly send information to the Biden White House to help combat the probes, including opposition research on the Republicans leading the investigations, poll data, and political ads.

The CIP, first created in 2020, does not reveal the identities of its donors. However, tax filings reveal that most of its funding comes from another far-left group, the Sixteen Thirty Fund (STF), which has been described as the “indisputable heavyweight of Democratic dark money.” Since 2020, STF has given over $1.5 million to the CIP, the same amount of money that CIP has since reported in revenues in the same time period.

Although STF similarly does not reveal its donors’ identities, far-left billionaire George Soros has made contributions of at least $24.9 million to STF in just the year 2021 alone, as revealed by the group’s database on grants.

Earlier this week, Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) participated in a press call with CIP leadership; Swalwell, like many other Democrats, had previously criticized the concept of dark money, saying back in 2018 that “a flood of dark money is poisoning our democracy, letting deep-pocketed special interests prevent Congress from acting even on issues upon which we agree.”

Brad Woodhouse, a senior adviser for CIP and Democratic strategist, has openly said that the group’s goal is to “exploit every tactic available” to block the progress of Republican-led investigations.

“It’s not enough to wait and see what they’re going to do and how far they’re going to go,” said Woodhouse. The group’s plan, he added, is “to go on offense” against Republicans.

Among the scandals and other crises that the GOP plans to investigate are the Biden family’s multiple foreign business dealings, from Ukraine to China, as well as the ongoing border crisis, government abuse of COVID-19 relief funds, and Joe Biden’s recently revealed theft of classified documents from his time as Vice President.
