U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Thursday he was appointing a Washington D.C. lawyer as special counsel to review classified documents found in Joe Biden’s Delaware residence and the office he used in Washington D.C.

Garland appointed Robert Kyoung Hur, 50, a former top aide to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who oversaw the Mueller investigation. He previously served as special assistant and counsel to Christopher Wray, then-Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division.
In 2018, former President Donald Trump appointed Hur to be U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.
Biden’s lawyers reportedly discovered roughly 10 documents dated from 2013 to 2016 in a locked closet at the Penn Biden Center, as they were clearing out his office in early November of 2022. The material was dated from 2013 to 2016, when Biden was vice president, and some of it was marked top secret. The Penn Biden Center is a University of Pennsylvania-run “think tank” in Washington where Biden worked after his vice presidency ended.
According to the White House, Biden’s lawyers found the documents on Nov. 2–less than a week before last year’s midterm elections, yet the White House only commented on the situation after it was made public this week.
An additional trove of classified Obama-era documents was subsequently found in the garage of one of Biden’s Delaware homes.
When pressed Thursday on why the White House sat on the document discoveries for more than two months, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre responded, “there’s a process,” and “we did this by the book.”

“Multiple aides who worked for Biden in the final days of the Obama administration have already been interviewed by federal law enforcement officials,” according to two NBC sources.
When asked why he’d had classified documents hidden in his garage, Biden replied, “My Corvette’s in a locked garage. It’s not like they’re sitting out on a street.”
He then added that “people know I take classified documents and classified material seriously.”

Kash Patel, who served as chief of staff to the Acting United States Secretary of Defense under President Donald Trump, said in an interview Wednesday that he suspects that the “government gangsters” who are actually running the White House, are in the process of “kneecapping” Biden in order to make way for a candidate of their own choice in 2024.
“Do you think it’s a coincidence that two weeks before Biden was to announce his reelection campaign, this breaks?” Patel asked former Trump advisor Steve Bannon on his War Room Pandemic podcast. “There are no coincidences with these government gangsters,” he said.
Patel pointed out that both Ukraine hoax “whistleblower” Eric Ciaramella and his “sidekick” Alexander Vindman worked in the office of the Vice President during the Obama years.
“Ciaramella, the fake whistleblower who walked into Adam Schiff’s office and created the Ukraine impeachment hoax out of whole cloth and fabricated intelligence,” Patel noted.
In 2016, he explained, Ciaramella was working in the Vice President’s office handling East Eurasian (Ukraine-Russia) matters. “He then goes into the Trump administration and partners with Fiona Hill, another government gangster at the White House conjuring up the Ukraine impeachment fiasco,” Patel continued. “Same guy who coordinated with the State Department in 2016, 2017 and 2018 about firing the Ukrainian prosecutor.”
In the Spring of 2016, Biden strong-armed Ukraine to oust Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, while Shokin was investigating Burisma Holdings, a natural gas company that employed Hunter Biden.
Patel said Ciaramella currently works as a deputy in the office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Avril Haines, a former Obama aide with fingerprints all over the fabricated Trump-Russia collusion hoax.
In October of 2019, Haines and other “prominent individuals from global business, government, and public health” were tasked with leading the policy response to a fictional COVID outbreak in the Event 201 pandemic tabletop exercise. The event closely resembled the COVID-19 pandemic that spread throughout the globe just a few months later.
As Biden’s DNI, Haines has devoted much of her time targeting Americans on the political right as potential domestic terrorists.
Patel said people like Ciaramella and Haines litter the bureaucracy as “government gangsters and deep state actors” while claiming “they’re doing America’s work.”
“The scary thing is, our enemies—the CCP [Chinese Communist Party], Russia and Ukraine—have immense leverage over the Biden family” because they know what’s in the purloined documents, Patel explained. “Now our White House is compromised by our number one enemy, the CCP, because these documents, as has been leaked to the media, speak directly to our most sensitive, compartmented information.”
Patel previously worked in the United States House of Representatives as an aide to Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), the former chairman of the Intelligence Committee, and in the United States National Security Council under Trump.
“A sitting president is the only soul arbiter in the classified authority system in the United States government,” he told Bannon. “You know who is not? A sitting vice president.”
Moreover, Patel noted that the Washington Post reported in November that federal agents and prosecutors had determined that Trump had had no criminal motive for allegedly taking and keeping classified documents. The motive, according to sources, “was largely his ego and a desire to hold on to the materials as trophies or mementos.”
Patel said the story indicates that Trump will not be charged in his case, setting the stage for the Biden Department of Justice to come out and say, “look, we handled both matters equally.”
Patel speculated that Susan Rice, formerly the National Security advisor under Obama, is behind an operation to “kneecap” Biden before the 2024 election. Rice works quietly behind the scenes as his Domestic Policy Advisor.
“She is running the balls and strikes operation,” he told Bannon. “Look at where this leak today occurred from. NBC’s Ken Dilanian, no friend of Trump or conservatives, or truthful reporting. It was put there on purpose because I believe Susan Rice has been running the White House this entire time to kneecap Joe Biden and his son at the same time,” Patel argued. “They will prevent Joe Biden from running, exonerate Hunter Biden, and enter them into the sidelines of history and have whatever candidate they actually want,” he said.
According to Patel, Biden’s classified document headaches “are just beginning.”
