Biden Leaves El Paso Without Seeing Major Border Damage in Brief Visit

Although Joe Biden finally visited the southern border after years of criticism, his trip was short and did not take him to any of the most heavily damaged areas, leading to further criticism of empty virtue-signaling without any substantial results.

As reported by Fox News, Biden’s visit to El Paso saw him briefly walk along a portion of the border that was already fenced off, then observe a port of entry where border officials searched vehicles for various contraband, such as weapons and drugs. It was his first visit to the border since taking office, as well as his first visit to the border in the 14 years he has been involved in the executive branch.

But many critics pointed out that Biden’s visit did not encompass the areas where the worst of the migration crisis are happening, including the areas with no border of any kind, where the worst of the overflows are occurring.

“You can look across the ports of entry on the entire southwest border, and that’s not where we’re seeing the illegal immigration. We’re seeing the illegal immigration between the ports of entry,” said Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council. “That’s the Border Patrol. That’s the component of CBP that handles all of this. He did not have any scheduled visits with them.”

“You’re never going to be able to develop true policies and programs and operations unless you’re willing to see exactly what is going on,” Judd continued. “And he refused to do that.”

Biden’s visit came after consistent backlash from Republicans and even moderate Democrats that Biden, as he continued to open the border further and encourage more illegal aliens to come into the country, refused to see the consequences of his actions in-person. Biden has repeatedly dismissed concerns about the border, claiming that there are “more important things” to do. However, the constant imagery of hordes of illegals flooding into the country, subsequently leaving behind damage and causing a rise in homelessness and crime wherever they go, has led to immigration being one of the major issues on which Biden is universally criticized by most voters.
