Arizona Governor Stacks Shipping Containers to Create Makeshift Border Wall

In Arizona, Governor Doug Ducey (R-Ariz.) has been creating a makeshift border wall by stacking hundreds of shipping containers alongside and on top of each other, lining the portions of the border where President Donald Trump’s official wall was not completed.

The New York Post reports that the crude barrier, lined with razor wire at the top, has been erected mostly along Arizona’s eastern border with Mexico in an act of defiance against the Biden Administration, which ordered a halt to further construction of President Trump’s wall as part of its open-borders approach to immigration. The Biden Administration ordered Ducey to stop the “construction,” only for Ducey to file a federal lawsuit in response.

“Arizona is going to do the job that Joe Biden refuses to do — secure the border in any way we can.” Ducey said in a statement announcing the lawsuit. “We’re not backing down.”

But even with this unofficial method, time is running out to secure the border. Ducey is set to leave office in the coming weeks, and will be succeeded by Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.), a radical leftist who supports open borders, and who appears to have won the gubernatorial election against Republican nominee Kari Lake under suspicious circumstances.

“I don’t know how much it will cost to remove the containers and what the cost will be,” said Hobbs in an interview. Denouncing the stacking of the containers as a waste of state resources, Hobbs has said that she is “looking at all the options” going forward, including possibly converting the containers into “affordable housing.”

Ducey’s move comes as the nation faces the largest influx of illegal aliens in modern history. In Fiscal Year 2022, which ended on September 30th, U.S. border officials arrested at least 2.38 million illegals, marking a 37 percent increase from the prior year. With the annual total topping 2 million in August, the 2022 records are over twice as high as the highest levels of illegal immigration during Trump’s presidency. The surge has been fueled by Biden’s campaign promises of amnesty and taxpayer-funded benefits to all illegals, including healthcare, education, and housing.
