‘Being an Eagles Fan Didn’t Save Her’: Jill Biden Massively Booed During Eagles-Cowboys Game

Philadelphia Eagles fans lustily booed and chanted “let’s go Branden” when Dr. Jill Biden stepped onto Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

Biden, who was honorary captain for the Eagles for the day, was reportedly at the event to promote the White House’s Cancer Moonshot initiative. The booing reportedly continued during the coin toss at midfield.

The fact that she was joined on the field by cancer survivors and their families did not seem to dampen the disdain of the fans.

The Bidens are reportedly huge Eagles fans themselves.

Sports journalists and fans took to Twitter to share the news that Biden was loudly booed at the game. NFL veteran Clay Harbor even included a laughing with tears emoji in his tweet.

“Being an ‘Eagles fan’ didn’t save her,” tweeted sports reporter John McMullen.

The booing seemed to die down as Biden led fans in a rendition of the team’s fight song “Fly Eagles Fly.”

“It’s tough to boo and sing at the same time,” noted Outkick reporter Matt Reigle.

Joe Biden seemed to foreshadow the incident during an interview in May of 2021 when he described Eagles fans as very “informed” and “obnoxious.”

“Philadelphia fans are the most informed and most obnoxious fans in the world,” Biden said at the time.

Ahead of the midterm elections, Joe Biden has been weathering historically low approval ratings, with low scores on key issues like inflation, the economy and jobs.

The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys 26 to 17 in the week 17 game.

Correction:

The fans were chanting “Let’s go Branden,” not “let’s go Biden,” as initially reported. We regret the error.
