Top Schumer Aide Received Jan. 6 Warning that Frontline Officers Never Saw

In the latest revelation regarding the Democrats’ mishandling of security and intelligence ahead of January 6th, a staffer for Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) received warnings about the possible events of that day, even though Capitol Police leadership and frontline officers were never given the same information.

According to Just The News, new documents show that top Schumer aide Kelly Fado was emailed by Capitol Police Deputy Chief Sean Gallagher on January 5th, 2021. In the email sent at 9:40 PM, Gallagher said he wanted to “provide you visibility” with intelligence that had been received by the FBI’s threat analysis center. The information sent to Fado – who is now the Senate’s Deputy Sergeant at Arms – allegedly warned of a plan by protesters to block Democratic members of Congress from entering the Capitol building, using the underground tunnel system to block possible points of entry and exit.

Gallagher claimed that the FBI had received the tip from a website owner, who said that “he has noticed a significant uptick in new visitors to his website. We have identified numerous open-source comments indicating groups intentions of finding the tunnel entrances and confronting/blocking” members of Congress on the day of the certification of the suspicious electoral vote count from the 2020 election.

“Additionally,” Gallagher continued, “we have seen a huge uptick with reporting via open source of the groups intentions of forming a perimeter around the campus (indicated in image #5 above) from 0600-1000 hours in order to block all MOC’s [members of Congress] from getting inside our perimeter to the Buildings with spots identified for direct action.”

Yet, despite the contents of Gallagher’s email, Fado never forwarded the information to then-Capitol Police Chief Steve Sund, or any other leaders or frontline officers in the Capitol Police. A report published last year regarding the security failures that led up to January 6th noted that, “similar to the intelligence already in IICD’s possession prior to January 5, the FBI SIR and the warning regarding the tunnel system were not elevated to USCP leadership.”

Republican members of Congress soon pointed out that this latest bombshell was further proof that certain January 6th intelligence was shared based on politics rather than on security.

“This is a really a shocking bombshell discovery…that shows the political nature of who received intelligence and who did not,” said Congressman Jim Banks (R-Ind.). “Remember the Capitol Police officers’ union chief said that they, the rank and file police officers, weren’t tipped off [to] the intelligence, that it was never shared with them.”

“It looks to me like Deputy Chief Gallagher only notified a political appointee of Chuck Schumer with this very, very delicate, important information that needed to get out to everyone,” said Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Ill.). “Deputy Chief Gallagher should have had every single person who is part of the oversight of the Capitol Police on this email. He chose only a staffer, who was who was appointed by Chuck Schumer. These are questions that have to be answered.”
