The ranking Republican on the House oversight Committee said Thursday that Hunter Biden is a “national security threat” amid mounting evidence that Joe Biden was complicit in his son’s corrupt foreign business dealings. Amid concerns that the president is dangerously compromised, Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo that Republicans are “having discussions” about impeaching him if they win the House majority in November.
The New York Post last week reported that Biden met with his son’s business partner, Eric Schwerin, in the West Wing of the White House on November 17, 2010. Schwerin was then the president of the since-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners. Schwerin reportedly made at least 19 visits to the Obama White House and other official locations between 2009 and 2015. In addition to Biden, Schwerin also met with various close aides of both Joe and Jill Biden while Hunter was “striking multi-million dollar deals in foreign countries, including China,” Obama White House visitor logs show.
According to the NY Post, the Schwerin White House visits included:
Meeting with Joe Biden aide Evan Ryan (10/28/2009)
Meeting with Jill Biden special assistant Meg Campbell (2/13/2010)
Meeting with Joe Biden assistant Michele Smith (10/24/2010)
Meeting with Joe Biden (11/17/2010)
Meeting with Joe Biden assistant Kellen Suber (8/22/2011)
Meeting with Jill Biden aide Betsy Massey (3/31/2012)
Meeting with Joe Biden assistant Michele Smith (2/7/2012)
Meeting with Joe Biden’s Director of Administration Faisal Amin (3/28/2013)
Meeting with Joe Biden assistant Kathy Chung (5/20/2013)
Biden has long denied having any involvement with his son’s business dealings.
White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday reiterated this denial when asked about the alleged meetings between Biden and his underlings and Schwerin.
“Nothing has changed about what I said yesterday, the president does not get involved in the business dealings of his son,” Psaki said. She repeated, “nothing has changed,” when pressed.

“President Biden’s long claimed that he had no knowledge of Hunter’s business dealings, but what we’ve learned in the past week really contradicts that,” Comer told Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo Thursday morning.
Comer noted that in addition to learning that Hunter’s business partner visited the Obama White House multiple times, he also had access to then-Vice President Biden’s checking account.
“We have an email that indicates that the partner emailed Hunter Biden saying, ‘since your dad owes you money, I’m going to take his Delaware state tax refund and deposit it in his account and turn around and write you a check,'” Comer said.
The Kentucky congressman said Republicans are currently gathering more evidence about Joe Biden’s business arrangement with Schwerin, in an effort to find out exactly how much involvement Biden had in his son’s business dealings.
Comer told Bartiromo that the fact that Hunter accompanied the then-vice president’s trip to China while negotiating a business deal with a CCP-owned company indicated that Joe Biden is “compromised when it comes to China.”
“We believe that Hunter Biden is a national security threat, and now we have every reason in the world to believe that Joe Biden was, in fact, in business with Hunter Biden.”
When asked if Republicans are considering impeaching Biden if the retake the House majority, Comer said: “We’re having discussions about that—as you know, Kevin McCarthy will have the final say in that. We have a lot of concerns about Joe Biden I think you’re going to see between now and next January when Republicans take the majority, we’re going to lay out the case for all the misdeeds of the Biden administration.”
Comer suggested that Biden’s open border policy could be the result of him being compromised by the Chinese.
“We have terrible policy coming out of the Biden administration, but we have a lot of concerns about national security threats with Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s shady business dealings with Russia and with China,” he said. “Does this affect decisions on the border? China’s making so much money off the fentanyl that’s crossing the border.”
