Far-left billionaire George Soros, along with his daughter Andrea Soros Colombel, is continuing to donate to organizations that bankroll radical candidates who support defunding the police in the United States.
As reported by Fox News, the Soros family has still been donating to a joint fundraising committee that oversees multiple other PACs. The committee, called Lead The Way 2022, includes the Way to Lead PAC, the campaign committee of radical Congresswoman Cori Bush (D-Mo.), and the campaigns of up to 12 other far-left political candidates running for the U.S. Congress.
Over many years, Soros has gained infamy for funneling tens of millions of his vast fortune into far-left organizations, candidates, PACs, and other entities that support such radical ideas as defunding the police and reducing sentences for criminals. These efforts have directly led to spikes in violent crime in many of America’s largest cities.
Soros’ daughter, although not donating to the same extent as her notorious father, is also donating to candidates such as Bush in the 2022 midterm elections. Federal Election Commission records have shown that the younger Soros has donated at least $100,000 to Lead the Way 2022. Her father shifted another $100,000 from his Democracy PAC into the non-contribution account of Way to Lead.
Subsequently, Lead the Way 2022 has redirected tens of thousands of dollars to the campaigns of numerous progressive candidates. The aforementioned Cori Bush has received $40,000 from the group, while Rana Abdelhamid, running for New York’s 12th district, has received $28,000. In Illinois, candidate for the 7th district Kina Collins has also been given $28,000, while Odessa Kelly in Tennessee’s 7th district received $41,000. All four candidates have openly called for defunding all police forces in the United States.
Outside of congressional races, Soros has donated at least $30 million to various district attorney elections across the country, which have proven crucial in seeing many tough sentences and law enforcement efforts reduced significantly. In 2020, Soros’ Open Society Foundation devoted over $220 million to a “racial equity” push, including $70 million for so-called “criminal justice reform” efforts that simply involved reducing maximum sentences for violent crimes and other offenses.
