Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Announces Plan to Send Illegal Aliens to D.C. on Charter Buses

With the Biden administration planning to scuttle the Title 42 immigration order next month, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is taking what he calls “unprecedented” actions to handle the tidal wave on illegal aliens that are crossing the U.S-Mexico border into his state.

Biden’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) plans to end the Trump era policy—which largely shut down immigration in 2020 in the interest of protecting the nation from the spread of COVID-19—on May 23.

Abbott announced on Wednesday that he has ordered state troopers to begin stopping and inspecting vehicles coming across the border, and will charter buses to ship migrants to Washington D.C., where Biden administration officials can take care of them.

“While Biden continues to FAIL America with his open border policies, Texas is taking UNPRECEDENTED action to secure our state & country,” Abbott tweeted. “Enhanced vehicle inspections @ points of entry Charter buses to send illegal immigrants to DC.”

During a press conference Wednesday, Abbott said that in the past year, he has deployed 10,000 Texas National Guardsmen and DPS troopers to the Southern border to deal with the influx of illegal immigrants.  The governor said they were able to apprehend more than 200,000 migrants, and arrest another 11,000, “including cartel members, drug smugglers, and cop killers.”

The governor said law enforcement has also seized enough fentanyl at the border “to kill every man, woman, and child in Texas.” Additionally, he said, in Texas, they have begun building their own border wall to protect their state and the country.

Abbott announced several new measures designed to help Texas deal with the massive influx of migrants expected to cross the border this spring.

“A zero-tolerance policy for unsafe vehicles smuggling migrants across the border is being implemented immediately,” Abbott said, adding that the Texas Department of Public Safety will conduct “enhanced safety inspections” as vehicles cross at international points of entry.

“To help local officials – because communities are being overwhelmed by hordes of illegal immigrants who are being dropped off by the Biden Administration – Texas is providing charter buses for these illegal immigrants who have been dropped off to Washington, D.C.,” the Republican governor added.

“We are sending them to the United States capital where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border,” he added.

Abbott also announced that Texas will install blockades on roads leading to border towns.

After the presser, Abbott signed an order directing the Texas Division of Emergency Management to head up the operation.

Texas officials also said they would begin “increased military activity” on the southern border and install razor wire at some low-water along the river to deter migrants from crossing.

Flanked by Texas troopers in the border city of Weslaco, Abbott acknowledged that additional inspections of commercial vehicles near the U.S. ports of entry will “dramatically slow” vehicle traffic coming into the county.

Following the governor’s press conference, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) said Abbott is clearly “trying to make a point to DC lawmakers” on the issue.
Abbott announced several other measures including inspections of commercial vehicles entering the state from Mexico as many of them, the governor claimed, “smuggle immigrants and other illegal cargo into Texas and onto our roads.”

Abbott said the National Guard troops will wear riot gear at the border to protect them from “potential caravan violence.”

The governor hinted that additional announcements will come later this week.

“Over the course between today and next week. Texas will continue to evaluate, press, and oppose the Biden administration’s open border policies and announce additional actions next week to respond to these unprecedented illegal border crossings,” he said.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) applauded Abbott’s new measures on Twitter, and suggested that the charter buses be sent to several other deep blue areas of the country.

Title 42 was implemented in March 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic, and has allowed border officials to immediately expel nearly 2 million migrants who have attempted to enter the US without hearing asylum claims.
Local law enforcement officials have warned that the Biden regime has “no plan” to deal with the hundreds of thousands of migrants expected the cross the border, but the Department of Defense told the New York Post on Wednesday that it will be providing “some” support.

That “support” amounts to providing the illegal aliens with cell phones and facilitating their dispersal to other parts of the country.

“We need to take steps to ensure that we know where individuals are and we can track and we can check in with them,” Psaki told Fox News reporter Peter Doocey during the White House Press briefing on Wednesday.
Additionally, the Biden regime plans to contract “40 commercial buses to transport migrants from border ports of entry to other locations for processing, as well as having medical personnel on standby,” according to the Post.

The Pentagon is also planning to provide “land sites on DoD military installations for processing of migrants,” as well as providing lodging for Federal employees working on the mission if needed.

The Pentagon reportedly has no plans to send additional troops directly to the border but seemed open to considering.

“The Department has been supporting this DHS-led mission since 2006, spanning the Bush, Obama, Trump, and now the Biden administrations along the way. If DHS were to send a request for continued assistance along the border, DoD would consider it,” Defense Department spokesman LTC Chris Mitchell told the Post.

Not to be outdone, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also announced on Wednesday that his administration now has the money to “reroute” illegal immigrants that have been flown into Florida by the Biden regime to “sanctuary states like Delaware.”
