Five Texas District Attorneys Defy Abbott Order to Crack Down on Child Abuse

At least five district attorneys in the state of Texas have declared their intentions to defy Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas) after his office issued an order calling for state authorities to crack down on child abuse by those seeking to turn children into “transgenders.”

As previously reported, Governor Abbott sent a letter earlier this week to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, ordering the agency to “conduct a prompt and thorough investigation” of any parents who try to force their children to undergo “elective procedures for gender transitioning.”

But on Wednesday, according to USA Today, district attorneys representing five of the state’s largest counties released a joint statement announcing that they would not do their jobs, and planned to ignore Abbott’s order. The DAs in question represent Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, San Antonio, and Sugar Land, which collectively account for over 5 million residents.

“We will enforce the Constitution and will not irrationally and unjustifiably interfere with medical decisions made between children, their parents, and their medical physicians,” the attorneys said in their letter, referring to Abbott’s order as “an egregious invasion of privacy.”

As a result of the DAs’ defiance of the law, criminal prosecutions will not be brought up against any child abusers in any of those districts. The state agency will still be free to pursue its own cases against such adults, but in order to seek criminal charges, must first prove any such case before a judge.

Abbott’s order also called on members of the general public, including child care professionals such as teachers and doctors, to report any parents or other adults who try to force children to undergo such traumatizing surgery or other procedures. Abbott warned that failure to report such incidents could lead to additional criminal penalties; the DAs similarly refused to pursue any charges against those who do not speak up against such abuse.

“We trust the judgment of our state’s medical professionals,” their statement continues, “who dedicate themselves to providing the highest degree of care not only for our transgender youth, but for all youth in our communities. We want to assure our residents with transgender children that they are safe to continue seeking the care their children need.”

Transgenderism is the debunked and scientifically fictitious belief that there are more than two genders, and that anyone can suddenly change their gender at any given moment. There have been numerous documented instances of far-left parents indoctrinating their children into believing they are “transgender,” and thus undergoing surgeries and other procedures to drastically and permanently alter their bodies; these procedures, however, often lead to high rates of depression and suicide, with many victims regretting that they underwent the “transition” in the first place.
