Nancy Pelosi Attends Mask-Free Wedding in San Francisco

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is facing widespread backlash and accusations of hypocrisy after she was seen attending a wedding in San Francisco without wearing a mask, according to Fox News.

The wedding, which took place at city hall, was officiated by Pelosi. After the ceremony, the festivities continued at the Getty Mansion. Besides Pelosi, other prominent Democratic figures in attendance included Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) and San Francisco Mayor London Breed (D-Calif.). Guests allegedly had to show proof of vaccination before being allowed into the event.

Liz Wolfe, an editor for Reason magazine, tweeted about how Pelosi, Newsom, Breed, and others had the time for “hobnobbing with the maskless hordes, at this extremely posh billionaire heiress wedding,” when they were the ones demanding that “San Francisco’s kids mask up in schools.”

“Why were guests able to do this?” Asked the group Reopen California Schools. “Maskless indoors when school dances across California are cancelled and kids must keep masks on 7 hours/day including outside at recess in many parts of CA including in SF.”

One group photo from the wedding showed at least 60 people in attendance, while other photos showed as many as 100 chairs. San Francisco’s latest restrictions dictate that everyone must be vaccinated in order to be maskless at an indoor event, but even then such events can have no more than 100 people in attendance.

“People in these settings may remove their masks if the employer or host of the gathering can control access to the setting and verify 100% full vaccination of everyone in the setting,” the city announced in October. “The employer or host must also ensure proper ventilation, no recent COVID-19 outbreaks, and children under 12 and guests are not present, among other safety measures.”

The founder of Reopen California Schools, Jonathan Zachreson, responded to the photos by declaring that “parents have reached a boiling point” with the hypocrisy displayed by Pelosi and other Democratic figures.  “They are just so done, and when you see Nancy Pelosi and these other wealthy individuals’ total disregard for the rule and lack of consideration for what our children are going through, it’s so defeating and infuriating.”

“You keep imposing these rules, and all of the people in power are not following them,” Zachreson continued, “but then they are imposing them on the people who don’t have a voice and who are the least at risk — those are our children.”
