We’ve all seen the memes. We’ve all laughed at the memes. We’ve all clicked every square that contains a Fed.
Today, an odd thought popped into my head. Who are these men in the memes? They are out there somewhere, living their lives, failing at their jobs. Have they seen the ridicule? What do they think of it? They thought they were undercover. They thought they blended right in and we couldn’t possibly see them. They thought they were as clever as James Bond outwitting some ridiculous super villain. Instead it turns out they are the ridiculous super villains.
Now they realize Middle America can see them. Middle America has cracked the code. Imagine the horror of discovering normal mom-and-pop America understands your nefarious plot.
It is all very funny. It is also all very tragic. Entrapment Fair demonstrated beyond a doubt our political opponents are determined to steal all our liberty. We cannot march on Washington, as is our right as citizens, without a horde of FBI agents ready to deprive us of every right. As Julie Kelly, the best reporter in America, has so brilliantly documented, Americans are being held without bail and in solitary confinement on minor misdemeanor charges. Not a single alleged “seditionist” has been charged with actual sedition. This is America becoming a police state. The Bureau Bros were wearing ugly sneakers but they were nevertheless there, as Orwell warned us, to stamp a “boot on a human face—forever.”
Remember Sean Hannity assuring us again and again that almost all FBI agents were good and honest men? We were guaranteed if Hillary wasn’t prosecuted for handling classified materials with less security than a child’s piggy bank, the good FBI agents would resign en masse.
Yet those good FBI agents never materialized. Instead, the most egregious abuse of power in American history was carried out without accountability or consequence. Former FBI Director James Comey was up to his neck in the criminal conspiracy all conservatives knew about but John Durham is just now quietly revealing. As every level of government was involved in these criminal acts, the FBI was too busy covering up for a sex offender to act.
Unlike most conservatives, I wasn’t brought up to respect law enforcement. I was raised by leftists who taught me that police officers were pigs who assaulted young people for doin’ nuthin’ but drug dealing. Learning respect for police officers came along with being in favor of tax and spending cuts, border security, the sanctity of unborn life, and the entire litany of American conservative policies. “Backing the blue” was a natural part of conservatism, once. Somewhere between San Jose police officers allowing Antifa to assault Trump supporters and shiny FBI agents ending the right to peacefully assemble, backing the blue no longer makes sense.
Now Biden has decided to punish the Border Patrol. It could just as easily be FBI agents next. Eventually an administration that is very hostile to law enforcement is going to decide the Bureau Bros would make good fall guys. When Biden comes for the Bureau Bros, I don’t think conservatives will back them. Conservatives will be too busy making memes.
