Vaccine Related Fatalities Now Exceed 12,000, According to VAERS Database [Update: CDC Website Now says 6,079]

Update: The CDC has changed its numbers back to 6,079 reports of death. See below for details.

In recent days, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website has quietly increased the number of deaths reported after a COVID-19 vaccination by over 6,000. The CDC is now reporting that between December 14, 2020, through July 19, 2021, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) received 12,313 reports of death among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine, compared to under 6,000 last month.

The CDC still stresses that adverse side effects are rare, reporting: “More than 338 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through July 19, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 12,313 reports of death (0.0036%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.”

The CDC’s calculation that only 0.0036 percent of vaccinated Americans have died as a result of the vaccines, however, appears to be inaccurate. As the CDC notes, more than 338 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the United States, which has a population of around 333 million. The reason the number of doses is greater than the population is because most vaccinated Americans have received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. According to the CDC, the actual number of fully vaccinated Americans is 161.6 million, therefore the correct number (12,313 deaths out of 161.6 million people) is 0.0076 percent—not 0.0036 percent.

The CDC’s website also points out: “Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem.” The FDA requires healthcare providers to report any deaths that occur after a COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if they’re not sure the vaccine was the cause.

Some medical professionals, however, claim that VAERS drastically undercounts the number of adverse reactions to vaccines.

At any rate, the updated number means the CDC has “now received more reports of deaths following Covid vaccination than ALL OTHER ALL OTHER VACCINES COMBINED IN THE 30-YEAR HISTORY OF VAERS,”  independent journalist Alex Berenson reported on Twitter.

VAERS is a database that monitors the safety of vaccines after they have been authorized or licensed for use by the U.S. FDA. The vaccine safety system accepts and analyzes reports of  “adverse events” after vaccination, and is co-managed by the CDC and FDA.

As of July 19th, VAERS had reportedly received 1,148 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis among people ages 30 and younger who received a COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC is reportedly investigating these reports.

Through follow-up, including medical record reviews, the CDC and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have confirmed 674 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis. In both cases, the body’s immune system causes inflammation in response to an infection or some other trigger.

Most of these heart inflammation cases have been reported to the CDC after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Comirnaty or SpikeVax), particularly in male adolescents and young adults.

Dr. Peter McCullough, an American professor of Medicine and Vice Chief of Internal Medicine at Baylor University, claimed in an interview last month that the VAERS database does not record the total number of adverse reactions to the vaccines. McCullough estimated that up to 50,000 Americans had already died as a result of the vaccines, based on information he’d received from whistleblowers in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the CDC.

A whistleblower from CMS has since submitted a written declaration “in support of legal actions to revoke the emergency use authorization for COVID-19 injections,” in the U.S. District Court Northern District of Alabama. The “Jane Doe”—who claimed to have a B.S. in Mathematics, and 25 years of experience in the healthcare data analytics field—said that CMS medical claims data indicates that the VAERS database is under-reporting “by a conservative factor of at least 5” the actual number of adverse reactions to the vaccines. The whistleblower estimated the true number of vaccine-related deaths to be at least 45,000.

The whistleblower made her sworn statement as part of a lawsuit that was filed on behalf of America’s Frontline Doctors. Her declaration is reprinted in its entirety below:

I am a computer programmer with subject matter expertise in the healthcare data analytics field, an honor that allows me access to Medicare and Medicaid data maintained by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). I earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics and have, over the last 25 years, developed over 100 distinct healthcare fraud detection algorithms, both in the public and private sector. It has been my mission to protect federal tax dollars by preventing and detecting healthcare fraud, a process which leads to both recovery of overpayments and law enforcement leads.

A large part of what I do is focused on the quality of care for the beneficiary; for example, I identify providers who prescribe an egregious amount of opioids to patients with a history of overdosing. Instead of titrating the patient off of opioids, they prescribe more, oftentimes leading to patient death. When the COVID-19 vaccine clearly became associated with patient death and harm, I was naturally inclined to investigate the matter.

It is my professional estimate that VAERS (the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System) database, while extremely useful, is under-reported by a conservative factor of at least 5. On July 9, 2021, there were 9,048 deaths reported in VAERS. I verified these numbers by collating all of the data from VAERS myself, not relying on a third party to report them. In tandem, I queried data from CMS medical claims with regard to vaccines and patient deaths, and have assessed that the deaths occurring within 3 days of vaccination are higher than those reported in VAERS by a factor of at least 5. This would indicate the true number of vaccine-related deaths was at least 45,000. Put in perspective, the swine flu vaccine was taken off the market which only resulted in 53 deaths. I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States
of America that the foregoing is true and correct.

If the whistleblower is correct, the true number of vaccine-related deaths, based on the updated CDC numbers, could now be closer to 62,000.

UPDATE:

The CDC website has—incredibly!—changed the number of reported deaths back to 6,079, claiming that number represents 0.0018 percent of people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. They also changed the number of doses administered to 334 million, instead of 338 million.

Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 334 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through July 13, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 6,079 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem. A review of available clinical information, including death certificates, autopsy, and medical records, has not established a causal link to COVID-19 vaccines. However, recent reports indicate a plausible causal relationship between the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine and TTS, a rare and serious adverse event—blood clots with low platelets—which has caused death.

Here is a screenshot of what the CDC reported earlier today.

Berenson surmised, charitably, that someone at the CDC mistakenly added 6,000 foreign death reports to the VAERS update.
