White House Defends Social Media Censorship Campaign, Says ‘Misinformation’ About Vaccines is Killing People

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Friday defended the Biden Regime’s collaboration with social media platforms to censure posts critical of the COVID vaccines by arguing that “misinformation” is causing people to reject the experimental vaccines and die of COVID.  Joe Biden meanwhile flat-out told a reporter that social media platforms [that allow misinformation on their sites] are “killing people.”

“So we’re regularly making sure social media platforms are aware of the latest narratives, dangerous to public health that we and many other Americans are seeing across all of social and traditional media. And we work to engage with them to better understand the enforcement of social media platform policies,” Psaki told reporters during the daily press briefing at the White House.

“As you all know information travels quite quickly. If it’s up there for days and days and days, when people see it, you know, there’s, it’s hard to put that back in a box, and of course promoting quality information algorithms, I don’t know how they work, but they all do know how they work,” Psaki continued.

Psaki also stated that if a user is banned from one platform “for providing misinformation” that user should be banned from all others.

Fox News’s Peter Doocy put the press sec. on the defensive, asking her how long the White House has been spying on Americans on social media.

“For how long has the administration been spying on people’s Facebook profiles looking for vaccine misinformation?” Doocy asked.

“That was quite a loaded and inaccurate question,” Psaki replied. She defended the practice by pointing out that the White House “is in regular touch” with corporate media outlets when they step out of line, as well.

“This is publicly open information—people sharing information online—just as you are all reporting information on your news stations,” she argued.

Doocy pressed Psaki about the list of twelve people she mentioned on Thursday, who are allegedly behind the majority of the so-called “misinformation” on social media

“Do they know that someone from the Surgeon General’s office is going through their profile?” he asked.

Psaki said she would get more information about the individuals for him, and disputed that the White House kept a “secret list.”

“I will tell you these are people who were sharing information on a public platform, she said.

“Our biggest concern, and frankly, your biggest concern should be the number of people who are dying around the country because they are getting misinformation that is leading them to not take a vaccine—young people, old people, kids, children—a lot of them are being impacted by misinformation,” Psaki argued.

When asked if people should be concerned that “Big Brother” is watching them on Facebook, Psaki returned to the White House talking point that “misinformation” is killing Americans.

“They’re more concerned about that then people dying across the country because of a pandemic when misinformation is traveling on social media platforms?” she replied. “That feels unlikely to me.”

Joe Biden also recited the White House’s new talking point about the dangers of “misinformation,” albeit with less subtlety and finesse.

“What’s your message to platforms like Facebook?” a reporter asked Biden on the White House South Lawn before he departed for Camp David on Marine One.

After a slight pause, Biden replied, “they’re killing people.”

He then said something that is demonstrably untrue. “The only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated,” he said, before repeating the line of the day: “And they’re killing people.”

“It is not at all true that “the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated,” investigative journalist Alex Berenson argued on Twitter. “Even if Uncle Joe’s advisors managed to stuff that sentence into his brain long enough for him to choke it out. But it is true that the only vaccine side effects we have are among the vaccinated.”

Berenson contends that the vaccines do offer most people protection from COVID, but it appears to wear off in only a matter of months.

Through study of all the available data, Berenson has found that concerning numbers of vaccinated Americans have been catching the COVID Delta variant. Worse, in some countries overseas, as many or more vaccinated citizens are coming down with the disease as unvaccinated.

Update:

Facebook responded indignantly to Biden’s remark earlier Friday that the platform was “killing people.”
