Morning Greatness: Propaganda Efforts Continue for J6 Commission

Good Friday morning.

Listen to the latest episode of Happy Hour with Julie and Liz: Julie and Liz talk about cicadas, the J6 commission, Fauci and the lab leak theory

Two minutes of hate:

The left and their media accomplices are hustling hard for the January 6 commission. A vote to form an “independent” commission to investigate J6 was supposed to happen yesterday but did not. The left needs 60 votes to get it to the floor but they don’t have them. Ten Republicans need to support the bill to move it forward but since the vote didn’t happen, J6 proponents have bought more time to squeeze, incentivize and manipulate Senators to hop on board.

The mother and girlfriend of Brian Sicknick, the capitol police officer who died of a stroke the day after the riot did a tour of GOP Senators earlier this week to garner support. Now “former DHS secretaries” have called on Senators to approve the commission.

Michael Chertoff and Tom Ridge, who served in the George W. Bush administration, and Janet Napolitano and Jeh Johnson, who led the Department of Homeland Security under then-President Obama, called on the Senate to “put politics aside and create a bipartisan, independent 9/11-style commission to investigate the January 6 attack on the Capitol.”

The campaign to jam the commission though the legislative process is a perfect example of how the left’s propaganda machine works. The media and advocates rustle up some “credentialed authorities” as if their bona fides are not themselves partisan. The credentialing institutes are partisan actors so it’s quite laughable that these jokers are calling on the Senate to “put politics aside.” If we put politics aside, why aren’t they calling to expand this commission to investigate all the deadly political violence last summer instigated by BLM and antifa?

Lisa Murkowski, one of three supporters of the commission, is “frustrated” that her colleagues haven’t swallowed the violent insurrection kool aid. “Are we going to acknowledge that as a country that is based on these principles of democracy that we hold so dear and one of those is that we have free and elections and we respect the results of those elections and we allow for a peaceful transition of power — I kind of want that to work beyond just one election cycle,” Murkowski continued.

Respect the results of the election? We had four years of Murkowski and her ilk insisting that RUSSIAN asset Trump only won the election because the RUSSIANS interfered. She was perfectly fine with no “peaceful transition of power” for the Trump Administration. But here’s the reward for Murkowski: she gets a Scooby snack in the media. A CNN head line reads: Murkowski whacks Senate GOP colleagues for plans to block Jan. 6 commission bill. Senate weaklings want to be liked and approved of by the political enemies of their constituents. That’s a big problem.

Biden has also chimed in to support the J6 commission. “I can’t imagine anyone voting against the establishing commission on the greatest assault since the Civil War on the Capitol,” Biden told reporters Thursday.

I just want to note one other effort in the operation to get a J6 commission going: a poll. Advocates have to get a poll floating around to influence the hold outs. The Hill reports, “The majority of Americans say they believe the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riot was an ‘attack on democracy that should never be forgotten,’ according to a Quinnipiac poll released Thursday.”

Deadly? One death and it was on the government’s side. And the partisan breakdown of the sample is just a little lopsided: 22%R, 33%D and 35%I. How did they come up with that ratio?!? This is not a poll of likely voters or registered voters, it’s a sample of the public, which has no relation to election results. But the purpose is not to relay relevant and accurate information about the electorate, the purpose of the poll is to make the public and elected officials think that the “majority” want a J6 commission.
