Acting Secretary of the Navy Thomas Harker plans to implement an extensive plan for promoting “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) in the Navy, as reported by Breitbart.
Harker’s plans were outlined in a memo released on Monday, where he directs Assistant Secretary of the Navy Cathy Kessmeier, who also holds the title of Chief Diversity Officer of the Navy, to begin building a Strategic Planning Team that will ultimately be in charge of promoting these far-left ideas.
“Equal opportunity is the bedrock of our democracy, and diversity is one of our greatest strengths,” Harker claims, without evidence, in the memo. “Both are critical to the readiness of our Navy and Marine Corps team and, ultimately, to our mission success.”
“It is the policy of the Department of the Navy to continue making transformative and meaningful steps that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in our policies, programs, and operations across the enterprise,” the memo continued.
As per the memo, Kessmeier will be tasked with conducting a 60-day review of potential contractors, for the purpose of identifying improvements that must be made in order to “promote supplier diversity and ensure proper implementation of equal opportunity and diversity policies in contracts.” The same review will analyze the current system for naming assets belonging to the Navy and Marine Corps, in order to “identify measures to improve diverse representation.”
Kessmeier herself released a statement, in which she falsely claimed that “equal opportunity is the fundamental promise of the United States,” and that “the Department of the Navy is committed to rooting out inequities that have sometimes kept that promise out of reach for underserved and underrepresented communities.”
The announcement represents the latest efforts by the Biden Administration to implement Critical Race Theory, a far-left conspiracy theory, throughout the entirety of the Department of Defense to be taught and promoted as fact. The theory falsely claims that America is fundamentally a racist nation, and that all White people are inherently racist, among other false statements.
