Male Murderer Moved to Women’s Prison in California After Claiming to be Trans

A man convicted of murdering his own children is among the prisoners in California who has been transferred to a designated women’s prison after claiming to be transgender, as reported by the Daily Caller.

Jason Hann, who claims to be a woman and prefers to be called Jessica Hann, was found guilty of murdering his children, Jason and Montana. His wife, Krissy Werntz, was also found to be guilty in the murders after helping hide their remains; they were both indicted by a grand jury in 2009, and Hann was convicted in 2013. He has been waiting on death row ever since.

Since claiming to be a woman, Hann was eventually moved in February of 2020 to Central California Women’s Facility, the same prison to which his wife was sent for a life sentence with the possibility of parole.

While still in prison, Hann received a gender reassignment surgery that was funded by taxpayer dollars. According to a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Hann is one of “10 patients statewide [who] have been approved for gender-reaffirming surgery.” This was made possible by S.B. 132, a bill that was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) in January, which requires the state to ask each inmate for their preferred “gender identity” and gender pronouns upon entering prison.

As a result, 261 inmates across the state have suddenly claimed to be transgender, with the vast majority of them being men claiming to be women and requesting transfer to women’s facilities.
