Former TV reality star Caitlyn Jenner is ‘actively exploring’ a run for a run for California governor as sitting Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom faces a recall effort, according to reports.
Jenner has reportedly sought out political consultants and has reportedly retained the services of Caroline Wren, a Republican fundraiser, according to Axios.
Wren and Jenner first met through their work with the American Unity Fund, a GOP nonprofit focused on LGBT issues, according to the report.
Wren also worked at Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee for President Trump’s re-election 2020 campaign.
Democrat California Governor Gavin Newsom is set to face a recall election, if Newsom is successfully recalled, according to Breitbart, there are reports that Trump allies are looking to former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell to replace Newsom.
Republicans are hopeful they could replace a recalled Democrat governor. Breitbart reported that in 2003, upset voters successfully recalled Democrat Gov. Gray Davis, who was later replaced by actor Arnold Schwarzenegger who ran for and won the office as a Republican.
