Curtis Ellis, R.I.P.

American Greatness is saddened to report the passing of one of our beloved long-time contributors, Curtis Ellis. Ellis died of cancer on February 14. He was 67.

Ellis served as senior policy director for America First Policies and as a Trump 2016 campaign advisor. His work at American Greatness brought to light the crucial re-thinking of policy that is essential on the Right and, particularly, within the GOP if there is to be any hope of saving America from the downward trajectory that threatens the republic.

Ellis understood that the essential battle of our time is not the one between Left and Right, but the too often unrecognized fight between big and small. He recognized that bureaucratization of both government and capital was working to pit a managerial class against the interests of an independent citizenry of all classes.

Ellis’s writing was engaging, witty, and clear-eyed. We are grateful to have known him and published his work and, along with all of those who benefitted from his wisdom, we mourn his passing and wish his family and loved ones the peace of the Lord that surpasses all understanding.
