Trump Warns GOP Groups Against Using His Name for Fundraising

Former President Trump has warned GOP affiliates to stop using his name and likeness for fundraising, according to a New York Post report.

Trump’s lawyers sent out cease-and-desist letters Friday to the three largest fundraising entities for the Republican Party, the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional committee.

News of the letter was first reported by Politico on Saturday according to The Post.

The former president has always been sensitive to how his name has been used and was reportedly upset with RNC emails using his name to raise funds, when the money could potentially be used on behalf of Republicans who voted to impeach him.

Trump has promised revenge on incumbents who refused to support him, by supporting primary challengers in 2022.

“Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First. We want brilliant, strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership,” Trump said in a statement last month.
