Whoopi, Ben Stiller, Rosie Perez Featured at Cuomo Re-Election Fundraiser

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is hosting a birthday re-election fundraiser with celebrity friends Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez and Ben Stiller headlining the virtual event, The New York Post reports.

The Democratic governor has continued to indicate he will seek a fourth term in 2022. Cuomo has denied any interest in joining the incoming Biden administration.

“We wanted to be sure you saw our invitation for a virtual birthday and holiday reception in support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo next month. Thank you to everyone who has already contacted us to confirm your participation,” the invitation sent by campaign finance Gita Tiku says.

“We are very pleased to announce that Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez, and Ben Stiller will join the Governor at this event.”

There will be a smaller, more exclusive “host” reception at 5:30 p.m. for donors who contribute or raise at least $10,000, according to the invitation.

A larger, general remote reception for supporters who can cough up $5,000 will get six tickets for the main event, while those who contribute $2,500 get three tickets.

Donors who give $1,000 have access for one. Young professionals and “activists” only have to give $50 for digital entry, The New York Post reports.

All three actors have appeared at prior Cuomo events or fundraisers. The birthday fundraiser is something he does nearly every year.
