Sobre Hombres Libres: On Free Men

MAGA.

On Free Men (Translation)

When the United States was founded, half the country did not speak the English language. This essay is for the strong and intelligent people who come from all reaches of the world and have been given by God the gift of Spanish as their primary language.

We have come to a great election in the history of the United States of America. It is a turning point.

We are asked, as Americans have been asked before, to choose between government by, for, and of the people, over and against government by technocratic elites who claim to know more about what is good for you than you do.

Do not be fooled.

They have as much care for you as a prison warden does for prisoners. They promise three meals, a place to lay your head, and a yard in which you can (sometimes) walk. But they are stuck in a quicksand of foreign ideologies—Antifa, Marxism, and radical socialism—which they have imported from distant places around the globe, from Germany, from Russia, from China, and even from the corrupt regimes of Venezuela and Cuba. They cannot promise you freedom because freedom is something they no longer understand.

In a way, all Americans are laborers. As the Holy Bible says, we all get our bread from the sweat of our brows. We have no class distinction because all true Americans are workers.

There is a movement afoot to change this. The technocrats of Washington, D.C., Silicon Valley in California, America’s banking centers, and the monopolists of the internet imagine a world where they determine what to give you while they control vast monopolies of information, finances, and trade. Your calling as Americans is to stop that movement.

You require trade and immigration policies that protect the value of your wages, laws that allow you to make your own decisions about your own businesses, and the respect to which every man who stands on his own two feet as a free man is entitled.

We are all here in America by choice. But the United States has also chosen us. Not every man or woman is chosen by the United States. But as citizens, you have been. We have been chosen by the United States of America to have as our common forefathers Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton, all the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and of course, the mighty Lincoln. This makes us brothers.

It is a special kind of man who is chosen by the United States.

The American man is rugged and independent. He is not afraid of anything other than God and failing to act as a good American. The American thinks for himself. He does not accept any authority as born to rule him. He gives political authority only to those who also consent to be ruled by him, through his civic engagement, his votes, and his rights as a free man.

Those who do not wish to have such responsibility—and it is serious responsibility—are not chosen by the United States. If they are born here, they have an uneasy time, perhaps dressing in black, hiding their faces, and looking ridiculous. If they are born in a faraway place they simply choose to stay there.

When a person is chosen by the United States he feels it inside with a great passion. The very fit truly American men who first felt that passion did so at a place called Concord where the first shot of the American Revolution was fired.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, a great American poet, wrote:

Here once the embattled farmers stood

And fired the shot heard round the world.

When an American votes for president he echoes the spirit of those humble farmers who fired that shot. As did the signers of our great Declaration of Independence, he pledges his life, his fortune, and his sacred honor to a way of life where he has no master and would be master to no one.

Consider this as you head to the polls.

I don’t need to tell you who to vote for. That would be an insult to you, as an American, whom I trust.
