‘Hamilton’ Cast to Perform for Biden Fundraiser

Joe Biden’s presidential campaign has announced that it will be holding a virtual fundraising event with the cast of the hit musical Hamilton, The Hill reports.

The Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign announced Monday night that it will be holding a virtual grassroots fundraiser with the original cast of “Hamilton” reuniting for the event on Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. ET.

Original cast members including creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Javier Muñoz, Leslie Odom Jr., Okieriete Onaodowa and Phillipa Soo will all be in attendance.

“Hamilton”, the musical favorite of the Obama’s, made its Broadway debut in 2015, and the cast performed at the White House in 2016.

Thomas Kail, director of the “Hamilton” film on Disney Plus, will moderate a Q&A with the cast. A special performance is also on the cards.

“It would mean a lot if you were in the (virtual) room where the reunion happens,” a fundraising pitch to Biden supporters said.

Fans of the musical can donate any amount of money to the Biden Victory Fund through its website in order to attend.
