The Biden campaign is refusing President Trump’s reasonable request to allow a third party to inspect the ears of the candidates for electronic devices or transmitters ahead of the first presidential debate Tuesday night, according to Fox News.
In addition to refusing to have Biden’s ears inspected, his campaign has also declined Trump’s demand that the candidates take a drug test prior to the Fox News debate. The showdown begins at 9 p.m. ET Tuesday and will be moderated by “Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace.
According to sources, the Biden campaign requested two breaks (one every thirty minutes) during the debate, but that was denied by the Trump campaign in negotiations after their earpiece request was rejected.
A Trump campaign source told Fox News that “our guy doesn’t need breaks. He gives 90-minute speeches all the time.”
Biden’s campaign initially agreed to the ear inspection, but then “abruptly reversed themselves, the Trump Campaign said in a statement.
“Joe Biden’s handlers several days ago agreed to a pre-debate inspection for electronic earpieces but today abruptly reversed themselves and declined. Biden’s handlers have asked for multiple breaks during the debate, which President Trump doesn’t need, so we have rejected that request,” said Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh. “On top of the refusal to take a drug test, it seems pretty obvious that the Biden team is looking for any safety net they can find in the hours leading up to the debate. With his 47 years as a failed Washington politician, how much help does Biden want?”
Rather than allow Biden’s ears to be inspected for ear pieces, Biden’s deputy campaign manager called the Trump campaign’s understandable request “absurd” in a call with reporters, and denied that Biden had asked for breaks during the debate.
“His staff seems concerned that he may not do well tonight and they’re already laying the groundwork for how they’re going to lie about why,” Kate Bedingfield blustered. “It is completely absurd. Of course, he’s not wearing an earpiece and we never asked for breaks.”
The candidate doth protest too much, one suspects.
If he won’t be wearing an earpiece, why not allow an inspection to remove all doubt?
In recent weeks, Trump supporters have shared an image online that purports to show a close-up of Biden’s ear sporting what could be a flesh colored ear piece during a recent town hall.

The Biden Campaign could easily put the matter to rest by allowing an inspection.
