Fox News ‘Outnumbered’ Hosts Cut Off Newt Gingrich After He Links George Soros to Violent Riots

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich found himself clearly “outnumbered” on Fox News Wednesday morning when he was shushed by the hosts for invoking the name of left-wing hedge fund billionaire George Soros.

The “Outnumbered” panel was discussing the costly impact months of race riots have had on small businesses in riot-torn communities, when Gingrich tried to point out that Soros can be linked to much of the destruction.

“Look, the number one problem in almost all of these cities is George Soros elected left-wing, anti-police, pro-criminal district attorneys who refuse to keep people locked up,” Gingrich explained.

Indeed, it has been widely reported in the media—including Fox News!—that Soros poured millions of dollars into getting far-left district attorneys elected.

These Marxist DAs are responsible for the lax catch and release policies that allow violent rioters back on the streets day after day, allowing them to continue their campaign of destruction.

“Just yesterday,” Gingrich noted, “they put someone back on the street who’s wanted for two different murders in New York City.”

He pointed out that Joe Biden has publicly supported these “progressive district attorneys,”  and stressed that they were “overwhelmingly elected with George Soros’ money.”

“They’re a major cause of the violence we’re seeing because they keep putting the violent criminals back out into the street,” Gingrich correctly noted.

“I’m not sure we need to bring George Soros into this,” Outnumbered panelist Melissa Francis chastised.

“He paid for it! ” the former speaker shrugged.

“No he didn’t!” former Obama State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf chimed in. “I agree with Harris that George Soros doesn’t need to be a part of this conversation,” she added.

After a long and awkward pause, the baffled Gingrich said, “okayyy … so it’s verboten.”

After another long and awkward pause, Faulkner said, “okay. we’re going to move on.”

Incredibly, as Ace of Spades noted, none other than Fox News on July 30 published a report on the Soros connection to the far-left DAs.

District attorneys and current candidates whose campaigns benefited from the work of left-wing organizations — including ones backed by liberal billionaire George Soros — are now pushing for new practices that could see sharp reductions in prosecutions and incarcerations.Soros, through the Justice & Public Safety PAC and other groups, has been spending millions of dollars on prosecutorial races in recent years, with a number of beneficiaries making headlines since their elections.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner, who was boosted by Soros in her campaign, drew controversy when she announced her office was bringing felony charges against Mark and Patricia McCloskey, the couple who brandished guns outside their home as protesters marched by in June.

Another high-profile prosecutor who has been backed by Soros in the past is Cook County, Ill. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. Foxx drew national attention when she dismissed the case against actor Jussie Smollett, who had been accused of faking a hate crime attack against himself. The case was later taken over by a special prosecutor who filed new charges.

San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin, another beneficiary of Soros-tied contributions, recently defended the movement to defund police. In a discussion with Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., earlier in July, Boudin questioned whether money going to police was the most effective use of taxpayer dollars.

Since then, the corporate media has worked hard to portray the indisputable fact that Soros poured money into the communist DAs as an “antisemitic conspiracy theory,” intimidating the weak-willed into silence.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story indicated that Harris Faulkner had chastised Gingrich for “bringing Soros into this.” That person was actually Outnumbered panelist Melissa Francis.
