Morning Greatness: Trump Hints at Executive Order on Mail Ballots

Good Tuesday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president participates in a signing ceremony for H.R. 1957 – The Great American Outdoors Act
  • President Trump has lunch with the Secretary of State
  • The president receives his intelligence briefing
  • 12:00PM Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany holds a briefing

Trump says he might issue executive order on mail ballots

On Monday, President Trump asserted he had the right to issue an executive order about the use of mail-in ballots for the November 2020 election.  “I have the right to do it,” Trump insisted, adding: “We haven’t got there yet, but we’ll see what happens.”

Politico included this nasty little item in their “news” story about Trump’s remarks:

Trump made the assertion during a coronavirus briefing at the White House when pressed by a reporter from OAN, the far-right network that has been a vocal ally of the president, and as part of a broader tirade against mail-in voting amid a push to expand the practice during the coronavirus pandemic.

If only they were so honest about their own coverage.

There are currently stories about problems with mail ballots, including in the third world sh!thole of New York City. Even the liberal death star New York Times covered the mail-in ballot “nightmare.”

Here’s a story about ballots “piled up in apartments and trash cans and in hallways” in Nevada, where they just approved a state-wide mail in election.

If people can assemble without social distancing for the John Lewis funeral/campaign rally or hit the street by the thousands to protest and riot or go to the grocery store then why can’t they go to the polls to vote?

Politico claims the president is trying to “sow doubt about the reliability of mail in-voting and, by extension, the November election” however people know how unreliable the post office is, they’ve been using it for years! We’ll see how this plays out but if Trump signs an order, expect a onslaught of lawsuits.
