In a massive political turnaround, the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO) announced its endorsement of President Donald Trump’s reelection bid in November, according to Breitbart.
NAPO made the announcement on its Twitter account, which declared their support for President Trump due to his “steadfast and very public support for our men and women on the front lines, especially during this time of unfair and inaccurate opprobrium being directed at our members by so many.”
The NAPO endorsement of President Trump marked a reversal of fortunes for Joe Biden, who was previously endorsed by NAPO as vice president to Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012. The NAPO then declined to endorse either candidate in the 2016 election.
The endorsement comes as Joe Biden has shifted to the hard-left in recent weeks, announcing his support for depleting police funding, as the rising far-left continues to call for the complete abolition of all police departments. In a recent Zoom interview with a supporter, Biden referred to police as “the enemy,” and compared them to “the military invading” neighborhoods of color.
