Morning Greatness: Taxpayer Subsidized Museum Distributes Racist Propaganda

Good Thursday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president receives his intelligence briefing
  • President Trump delivers remarks on Rolling Back Regulations to Help All Americans

Taxpayer subsidized museum distributes racist propaganda

The National Museum of African American History and Culture (part of the Smithsonian museum system) distributed a racist graphic on Wednesday listing the attributes of “white” people.

As you can see the belief system of “white” culture expressed here suggests that other “colors” of people do not operate according to reason or “scientific method” or value a nuclear family, or work hard (“protestant”) or compete to be the best at their chosen activity.  (Hello professional athletes!) What culture values laziness, irrationality, broken family structures and thoughtless herd behavior? Non-“whites”? Because that is certainly the implication and it is offensive.

“Since white people still hold most of the institutional power in America, we have all internalized some aspects of white culture — including people of color,” it reads.

Other features of this trashy propaganda include such disinformation as “wealth=worth” and “bland is best” as descriptors for “white” people. What would happen if a museum put out similar descriptors for people who are non-“white?” There would be an uproar.

Now, I accept that fact that in a free society or theoretically free society there are going to be stupid idiots. But the taxpayers should not be paying for this garbage and congress needs to investigate this and yank their funding immediately.

Twitter got hacked

Yesterday, Twitter was hacked.

We don’t know how the hack happened or even to what extent Twitter’s own systems may have been compromised — but following the unprecedented hacks of accounts including President Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Kanye West, Michael Bloomberg, and Apple, Twitter has confirmed it took the drastic step of blocking new tweets from every verified user, compromised or no, as well as locking all compromised accounts.

And it wasn’t just the accounts, Twitter employee accounts were also compromised.

High profile Twidiots were tweeting out some sort of bitcoin scam and Twitter shutdown all verified Twitter accounts to try and get the situation under control.

Looks like it’s all fixed now. It’s a great time to sign up for Parler.

Trump Administration requires hospitals report to HHS, not the CDC

A Stage Five freak out was prompted by the Trump Administration when they moved the responsibility for collating Covid-19 data from the CDC to the HHS. “Hospitals were told as of Wednesday to stop reporting daily Covid-19 data through the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network and instead funnel it through two HHS systems.” The CDC has been an epic failure on the virus front, so why is this so controversial?

CDC Director Robert Redfield told reporters on a call Wednesday the change was intended to better streamline the data, reduce reporting burdens and obtain better information to enable the department to distribute scarce resources.

And of course, there are priorities: “Some of the health groups questioned whether the change could keep data on racial and ethnic disparities in care from being surfaced while disrupting information officials use to plot efforts to contain disease spread.”

Overall there aren’t major changes here but it was an opportunity to throw yet another tantrum about the Trump Administration. “Bottom line is they have no less data, or access to it, today or tomorrow than they did before,” an administration official said.
