Democrats Call for Boycott of Goya Foods After CEO Praises Trump

After the CEO of Goya Foods praised President Donald Trump for signing a school choice executive order into law, several prominent Democrats began demanding a boycott of the largely Hispanic-owned company, as reported by USA Today.

The CEO, Robert Unanue, appeared at the event alongside President Trump, declaring that “We’re all truly blessed…to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder.” He compared President Trump’s success in the business world and success in rebuilding America to what his own grandfather did in immigrating to America from Spain and creating Goya Foods.

Unanue’s endorsement was immediately attacked by several leading Democratic politicians, including failed presidential candidate Julian Castro, who took to Twitter to falsely accuse President Trump of “villainizing and maliciously attacking Latinos for political gain.” Even after admitting that “Goya Foods has been a staple of so many Latino households for generations,” Castro ended his tweet by saying that “Americans should think twice before buying their products.”

Far-left socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, retweeting a video of Unanue’s remarks, said that she would start learning how to make her own Adobo, implying that she would no longer purchase Goya products. Goya was also attacked by the far-left illegal alien advocacy group United We Dream, which falsely labeled the Trump Administration a “White Supremacist regime,” and declared that Goya “must respect and fight for our humanity.”
