After a coalition of far-left “civil rights leaders” met with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, they accused him and his platform of doing nothing to stop racial divisions being articulated on the website, according to USA Today.
As the left-wing group spent a little over an hour on a conference call with Zuckerberg, Zuckerberg confirmed that he would hire a “high-level executive with civil rights expertise,” but did not concede to any of the activists’ remaining points. They specifically had 10 demands for Zuckerberg, including “submitting regular audits of hate speech and misinformation,” as well as “removing all hate speech and hate speech groups.”
After Zuckerberg refused to concede to any of their demands, the group, led by NAACP president Derrick Johnson, accused him of “defending white supremacist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic, and other hateful groups on Facebook,” further complaining that they got “no details, no clarity, and no results.”
Another radical, CEO of the far-left hate group known as the Anti-Defamation League, Jonathan Greenblatt, claimed without evidence that “we saw white nationalists organizing in the open on Facebook to disrupt the Black Lives Matter protests…and Facebook, when we showed it to them, did nothing.”Facebook has repeatedly come under heavy criticism from the Left for its refusal to resort to the same tactics of censorship as some of its competitors, including Twitter. Much of the criticism stems from Facebook’s refusal to censor President Donald Trump, and its continued allowing of political ads, even after Twitter has banned the latter and repeatedly censored the president with false “fact-checks.”
