Morning Greatness: Demands to Defund the Police Continue

Good Tuesday morning.

Here is what’s on the president’s agenda today:

  • The president meets with the Secretary of State

Cries to defund the police grow

As I mentioned yesterday, I support this. If your community does not want a police force, it should not have one. If your community does want a police force, then it should have one. So simple. Now, if your community becomes a smoking crater of thievery, murder, assault and rape at least you don’t have a police force, right? There won’t be any grocery stores, businesses or jobs, but at least you don’t have a police force. What I don’t support is turning over police forces to leftist “regulations” that will most certainly allow violent criminals to roam free and imprison people who don’t post the proper virtue signal on Instagram. You know what I mean.

I think my solution is pretty agreeable, right? People can chose what kind of community in which they want to live. Who can argue with that? People who don’t just want to make choices for themselves but people who want to make choices for you, that’s who. And that’s what the left is about, making choices for you. Hitting the streets for an acceptable protest is the right choice so it is allowed. Opening your business or holding a funeral is NOT.

In fact only 16% of Americans want to defund the police and 65% said they did not want to see police budget cuts. The Minnesota City Council president, Lisa Bender appeared on a daily political snuff show, here is what she had to say about how crime would be handled in her police-less city.

Camerota asked, “What if, in the middle of the night, my home is broken into? Who do I call?”

Bender said, “Yes, I mean, I hear that loud and clear from a lot of my neighbors, and myself, too, and I know that that comes from a place of privilege. Because for those of us for whom the system is working, I think we need to step back and imagine what it would feel like to already live in that reality where calling the police may mean more harm is done.”

You hear that? Wanting the police to come and protect you from malefactors “comes from a place of privilege.” I hope the police force has noted Bender’s address and doesn’t subject her to “more harm” if her place of residence is burglarized.

Sleepy Joe Biden and his handlers are well aware that getting rid of the police is political suicide. After all, having some kind of social protection force is at the root of the social contract and the desire for physical security is at the core of human nature. “No, I don’t support defunding the police. I support conditioning federal aid to police based on whether or not they meet certain basic standards of decency and honorableness,” Biden said Monday in an interview with CBS News.

Well no. We saw what happened to the Education Department during the Obama administration and their “federal funding requirements” for colleges. We got a bunch of kangaroo court and tribunals designed to indulge snowflakes who could wipe out the lives of their targets with fantastic and unexamined allegations.  Just imagine what the police departments would be subjected to…and I say that as someone with a strong libertarian streak and a distaste for government authority.

Now village idiot Senator Kamala Harris, who spent her power as A.G.in California punishing parents for their children’s truancy, said that it is “outdated, and it is actually wrong and backward to think that more police officers will create more safety.” Really? This is a total 180 from the traditional lefty solution for failing institutions, which is to throw MORE money and resources at federal problems. You know what I am talking about, I’m talking about our horrible public school system that gets more and more money, the more it fails. It’s almost as if these folks aren’t taking a stand on principle.

Everyone loves the police when there’s a 9/11, a school shooting, or a tragedy but now everyone hates them.
