Joe Biden May Possibly Attend George Floyd’s Official Funeral

According to CNN, plans are in the works for former Vice President Joe Biden to attend George Floyd’s official funeral, although the details have not been finalized yet.

Floyd’s family attorney Benjamin Crump – who also represented Trayvon Martin’s family in their case against George Zimmerman – said on Tuesday that “we understand that Vice President Biden will be in attendance.” The Biden campaign has neither confirmed nor denied that Biden will attend the service, which is set to take place in Houston, Texas next Tuesday.

Biden had staged a photo-op with black community leaders at a church in Delaware on Monday, still wearing a surgical mask due to fears of the coronavirus. On Tuesday, Biden gave a speech ranting about alleged “systemic racism” in the United States and supposed “police brutality” against African-Americans, offering no evidence in either case.

His speech criticizing police came just one day after numerous acts of violence deliberately carried out against police officers across the country, including four St. Louis police officers who were shot in the line of duty by rioters.
