Twitter began censoring President Donald Trump’s tweets yesterday, with a “fact-checking” notice being attached to two of the president’s tweets discussing mail-in ballots and voter fraud, as reported by USA Today.
The original tweet said that “there is no way (zero!) that mail-in ballots will be anything less than substantially fraudulent.” A follow-up tweet added that “this will be a rigged election” if nationwide mail-in voting is legalized.
Now, both tweets have notices below them that read “Get the facts about mail-in ballots,” which lead to a page listing left-wing stories and “fact-checks” of the president’s tweets, which claim that “Trump falsely claimed that mail-in ballots would lead to a ‘rigged election.’” The page then falsely claims that “fact-checkers say there is no evidence that mail-in ballots are linked to voter fraud.”
Mail-in voting has become one of the Democrats’ major goals in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, with the state of California becoming the first to mandate mailing of ballots to every single registered voter. But similar methods, including California’s legalization of the practice of ballot-harvesting, has in fact led to voter fraud in California, such as the 2018 midterms.
Twitter noticeably has not fact-checked any claims by left-wing figures or Democratic politicians, including Representative Adam Schiff’s (D-Calif.) false claims of “Russian collusion” with the Trump Administration. This further confirms a clear bias on Twitter and other major social media sites against conservatives, which has increased significantly in the months leading up to the 2020 presidential election.
